Field Service Engineer – m/f/d
PerkinElmer
• Installation, maintenance, troubleshooting and repair of analytical PerkinElmer/Perten instruments — including NIR, process NIR and rheology solutions — at customer sites in southern Germany and beyond • Primary point of contact for customers requiring technical support; building long-term relationships and advising on instrument performance, upgrades and qualifications • Identify sales opportunities — service contracts, consumables, software updates — and act proactively on customer needs • Train users in instrument operation and provide advice on process optimization • Produce accurate service documentation, ensure timely and correct billing, and support continuous improvement through thorough fault analysis • Independently plan daily work with attention to response times, customer priorities and travel efficiency
Job Requirements
- Technical training or vocational qualification (mechatronics technician, electrician or related field)
- Experience supporting software-based analytical electromechanical instruments
- Fluent German and good English (spoken and written)
- Class B driving license and willingness to travel
- Residence within postal code areas 7, 8 or 9, or willingness to relocate to this area
- Team player with strong communication skills

• Conduct thorough audits across various site types, including prefabricated equipment shelters, commercial dispatch centers, and co-located towers to ensure compliance with the Motorola Solutions 'Standards and Guidelines for Communication Sites' (R56) manual. • Audit all critical R56 disciplines, including Building Design, External Grounding and Bonding, Internal Bonding and Grounding, Power Sources, Surge Protective Devices (SPDs), and Equipment Installation. • Identify and report all known life safety issues, regardless of the responsible party. • Document and report electrical defects, insulation degradation, and signs of galvanic corrosion in commercial facilities. • Support the Field Engineering team through active cross-training and assistance with departmental duties as needed.
• Perform timely and accurate preventative maintenance on medical equipment • Perform troubleshooting and basic service repairs on customer equipment • Assist more experienced field engineers with equipment installations and more complex repairs • Proactively engage with other team members to ensure appropriate solution for the customer • Maintain relationships with customers and ensure timely communication, resolution and proper follow up to drive customer satisfaction • Adhere to company policies, procedures and hospital protocols to ensure regulatory and compliance requirements are met • Partner with the customer and/or the sales team to recommend value-added services
• Respond to technical service calls for maintenance and installation, providing complete resolution of complex, multi-symptom issues on medical imaging equipment • Serve as the daily interface with physicians and technicians regarding equipment status • Work to ensure customer satisfaction • Provide assistance during account sales visits • Collaborate on the team’s technical development • Identify sales opportunities and communicate them to the account team • Ensure completion of service order reports • Maintain effective quality systems and programs in accordance with GE HealthCare Service Quality and EHS policies
