Training Manager

• Leads/coaches training team members on: classroom organization & preparation, following training curriculum as intended, rehearsing for a polished delivery of training, passionately delivering training, appropriate use of resources & tools in the classroom, classroom management & positive learner experience, communication & engagement with learners, and time management. • Inspires team member engagement and performance through strengths-based leadership. • Motivates team members with constant recognition. • Collaborates with the instructional design team to ensure continuous improvement of all training & development initiatives. • Coordinates with the instructional design team on train-the-trainer sessions between instructional designers and training facilitators. • Owns the instructor-led training calendar for training classes based on staffing needs for client projects. • Delegates and assigns training class responsibilities to training facilitators. • Facilitates recurring cross-departmental “stitch” meetings to ensure alignment between education and practice for all learners. • Participates in required client meetings. • Acts as administrator for Humach University, the Learning Management System. • Oversees the assignment, tracking, reporting and maintenance of learning objects within Humach University. • Actively participates in personal and professional development initiatives. • Acts as a champion of challenge and change. • Constantly questions I.W.W.C.W (In What Ways Can We) do things differently.

Job Requirements

  • Associate degree plus 3-5 years’ experience in a training role; or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Virtual training facilitation and supervisory/mentorship experience required.
  • Passion about continuous improvement for self and others.
  • Knowledge and practice in adult learning theory/principles.
  • Strong emotional intelligence and ability to “read the virtual room.”
  • Demonstrates a positive attitude consistently.
  • Excellent organizational, project and time management skills.
  • Self-starter with a strong ability to work independently and not wait for all the information.
  • Proficient in Zoom and Microsoft Teams.
  • Proficient in Microsoft products, including PowerPoint, Outlook and Word.

The Lead Training Specialist (LTS) in the Education Call Center Division of the Muskogee Regional Processing Office (RPO) coordinates training and change within the office for the following purposes: - Advising and providing information on pertinent activity throughout the Education Call Center (ECC) to employees and managers. - Explaining changes to legal provisions, regulations, and related administrative practices and their application to specific cases through training efforts. - Assisting the ECC and the Regional Office in providing needed services to all required parties. The Lead Training Specialist serves as a liaison between supervisors and employees and may plan and assign work and training as needed. Specific duties include: - Serving as the training coordinator for employees in the Education Call Center, responsible for planning, coordinating, developing, directing, and reviewing all training programs. - Performing quality reviews for production employees to determine individual quality levels for performance standards. - Conducting specialized reviews to determine the accuracy of trainee call actions taken and error trends to evaluate performance. - Preparing national ECC quality reports and providing feedback to appropriate officials. - Providing training assessments to employees and managers detailing strengths and weaknesses and ways to improve performance. - Serving as a technical advisor to the Education Call Center Manager, reporting daily operational problems and developing solutions to achieve ECC goals and objectives. - Ensuring all program requirements imposed by Education Service, VA, or others are met or implemented appropriately. - Effectively communicating with employees, supervisors, claimants, and stakeholders with differing backgrounds and skills, and resolving issues independently. - Providing management advisory services, including conducting needs assessments throughout the Education Call Center and advising on training effectiveness and priorities. - Consulting with professional training associations to secure appropriate training programs and resources, and developing innovative training methods and course materials. - Assisting instructors in the selection of material taught and making recommendations for further development of instructors. - Utilizing a variety of teaching methods and technology in the delivery and facilitation of training programs. - Providing specialized instruction to employees on difficult call inquiries during on-the-job training.
