Role Description Administers, supports, secures, optimizes, and modernizes the databases and data repositories supporting POTS and its customer-wide procurement workflow, reporting, document-management, and enterprise-integration functions. Roles & Responsibilities: - Administer and maintain POTS databases and associated data repositories. - Monitor database health, availability, capacity, performance, storage, and security. - Perform backup, recovery, restoration, patching, upgrades, and scheduled maintenance. - Troubleshoot database incidents, failed jobs, integration errors, blocking, deadlocks, and performance degradation. - Optimize schemas, indexes, stored procedures, queries, and database configurations. - Support consolidation of approximately 30 IC-specific databases into a unified enterprise platform when directed. - Support interfaces and data exchanges involving NBS, nVision, ServiceNow, DMS, NED, and approved third-party systems. - Maintain database documentation, data dictionaries, operational procedures, and recovery plans. - Support secure migration to cloud or modernized database environments. - Participate in Agile planning, release activities, testing, change management, and architecture reviews. - Protect procurement-sensitive, financial, personal, and proprietary data. Qualifications - Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Database Administration, or a related field. - Minimum 7 years of database administration experience. - Strong experience with Microsoft SQL Server administration. - Experience with database installation, configuration, patching, upgrades, backup, restore, recovery, performance tuning, SQL development, query optimization, security, roles, privileges, auditing, data migration, consolidation, and integration. - Experience supporting highly available enterprise applications and development teams. - Experience with database change control, release management, and technical documentation. Requirements - Experience consolidating multiple similar databases into a shared enterprise database. - Experience with SQL Server Data Tools, stored procedures, ETL, reporting, and data-quality controls. - Familiarity with Oracle, NoSQL, cloud databases, or Azure database services. - Experience integrating databases with APIs, financial systems, analytics platforms, and data warehouses. - Knowledge of NIST, FISMA, privacy, encryption, audit logging, and ATO requirements. - Microsoft SQL Server, Azure Database, or related database certification. - Experience supporting Federal financial and procurement systems.
