Role Description We are seeking a skilled and customer-focused Deployment/Implementation Consultant to lead the deployment, configuration, and optimisation of enterprise software solutions within customer environments. The successful candidate will work closely with customers, project managers, technical teams, and stakeholders to ensure successful implementation projects from design through to go-live and ongoing support. This role requires strong technical expertise across cloud infrastructure, automation, containerisation, and database technologies, combined with excellent communication and problem-solving skills. Key Responsibilities - Solution Deployment & Implementation - Lead the installation, configuration, and deployment of software solutions across customer environments. - Design and implement scalable, secure, and highly available infrastructure solutions. - Support customers through implementation, migration, upgrade, and go-live activities. - Develop and execute deployment plans, implementation documentation, and standard operating procedures. - Conduct technical workshops and knowledge transfer sessions with customers and internal teams. - Cloud & Infrastructure - Deploy and manage solutions within Microsoft Azure environments. - Implement infrastructure using Infrastructure-as-Code methodologies, primarily Terraform. - Configure and support Kubernetes and Docker-based application deployments. - Manage source control, deployment pipelines, and GitOps processes using Git and Flux CD. - Ensure environments meet security, compliance, and operational requirements. - Database Implementation - Install, configure, and maintain Microsoft SQL Server and PostgreSQL environments. - Support database migrations, upgrades, performance tuning, and troubleshooting. - Ensure data integrity, availability, and security throughout deployment projects. - Automation & Scripting - Develop and maintain automation scripts to support deployment, configuration, and operational tasks. - Use PowerShell and Bash to streamline implementation activities. - Leverage Python where appropriate to enhance automation and operational efficiency. - Monitoring & Operational Readiness - Implement monitoring, logging, and alerting solutions to support production environments. - Analyse system performance and proactively identify optimisation opportunities. - Support capacity planning and scaling initiatives. - Assist with incident resolution and root cause analysis where required. - Stakeholder Engagement - Work directly with customers to understand technical requirements and implementation objectives. - Collaborate with Project Managers, Product Teams, Support, and Engineering functions. - Provide regular updates on deployment progress, risks, and mitigation strategies. - Deliver a high-quality customer experience throughout the implementation lifecycle. Qualifications - Technical Skills - Strong experience with Microsoft Azure cloud technologies. - Hands-on experience with Terraform and Infrastructure-as-Code principles. - Experience deploying and managing Kubernetes and Docker environments. - Knowledge of Git, version control practices, and GitOps methodologies (Flux CD desirable). - Experience administering Windows Server and Linux environments (RHEL or Ubuntu preferred). - Strong database experience with Microsoft SQL Server and/or PostgreSQL. - Proficiency in PowerShell and Bash scripting. - Understanding of monitoring, logging, alerting, and observability platforms. - Professional Skills - Proven experience delivering technical implementation or deployment projects. - Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving capabilities. - Ability to communicate complex technical concepts to both technical and non-technical audiences. - Strong customer-facing and stakeholder management skills. - Excellent organisational, planning, and documentation abilities. - Ability to manage multiple projects and priorities simultaneously. - Desirable Experience - Experience working within a software vendor, SaaS, or managed services environment. - Azure certifications (e.g., Azure Administrator, Azure Solutions Architect). - Kubernetes certifications (CKA, CKAD). - Experience with CI/CD pipelines and DevOps practices. - Knowledge of security best practices within cloud-based environments. - Python development or automation experience. Requirements - Candidates must be able to demonstrate a pre-existing right to work and travel within the UK. Role Description The principal responsibility of the OIC Development Specialist is delivering priorities set by the NPCC and the Home Office for the benefit of front-line policing. The areas of development have been identified as: - Safeguarding - Policy - Operational Activity - Ports and Borders - Training Working closely with both statutory agencies and NGOs, you will identify and support improvements in the way in which police forces across England & Wales work in partnership to tackle Organised Immigration Crime (OIC). This role is part of a team that will exist until March 2027 to build knowledge and improve the quality and consistency of the UK’s policing response. Extensive travel across the UK is required. In particular, you will be responsible for: - Developing and supporting operational activity across the UK to meet the nature of the current threat - Working with both statutory agencies and NGOs to improve our intelligence picture and disrupt Organised Crime Groups across the UK - Collaborating with the Home Office, Border Security Command, and NCA to improve policing’s response to OIC, prosecutions, and PND in relation to OIC - Developing workshops and briefings across the UK for front-line officers and senior leaders - Ensuring effective safeguards to prevent victims from being criminalised - Working with Regional Coordinators to strengthen approaches and share good practices across all UK Police Forces - Collaborating with other parts of the unit to strengthen our understanding of the scale and nature of OIC and what works best in preventing it This list of duties is not restrictive or exhaustive, and the post-holder may be required to carry out duties from time to time that are either commensurate with or lower than the grade of the post.
