Job Description
Product Designer
Sortie
• Design the core Sortie ops platform: realtime, dispatch, scheduling, booking, freight, and maintenance workflows used daily by real operators • Define how conversational AI and traditional UI coexist in a single product, including when to surface a component, when to stay in text, and how to transition between the two • Own the design system that supports both information-dense dashboards and conversational interfaces • Design the customer-facing booking portal, which must be co-brandable with the operator's identity • Work directly with engineering and operations, you'll ship constantly • Spend time with actual operators to understand how dispatchers, pilots, and freight handlers think about their work
Job Requirements
- Strong systems thinking — you're designing workflows for safety-critical operations, not marketing pages
- Experience designing complex, data-rich applications (scheduling, logistics, mapping, or similar operational tools)
- Comfort with ambiguity and new interaction patterns — there's no established playbook for blending conversational AI with operational dashboards
- Familiarity with responsive and mobile design — operators are on tarmacs and docks, not at desks
- 3-5 years in a professional design role.
Benefits
- 0.25-0.50% equity
- Salary/Equity split negotiable based on preference
- 100% paid health, vision, and dental benefits
- 401k with matching up to 4%
- 20 days of PTO and at least 11 Paid Holidays

Take work from discovery through execution with minimal oversight—framing the problem, validating direction, and delivering high-quality designs. • Lead your own research. Plan and conduct interviews, usability tests, and exploratory research; synthesize findings into clear insights that influence product direction. • Design with precision and speed. Create flows, wireframes, prototypes, and high-fidelity designs using Figma, FigJam, and Figma Make, leveraging AI tools to explore and iterate efficiently. • Work through ambiguity.
