Noise & Vibration Specialist

Systra

Role Description Within the Environment team, you will assess, model, and mitigate noise and vibration impacts for public transit and rail projects from planning through commissioning. You will ensure compliance with provincial and federal regulations, optimize technical solutions, and support clients, authorities, and communities in delivering high-performing projects with strong social acceptability. - Design and deploy urban and rail noise/vibration measurement campaigns; ensure protocols, instrumentation, quality, and safety. - Model noise and vibration across design, construction, and operations; define and optimize mitigation measures. - Integrate acoustic/vibration requirements into plans and specifications with cross-disciplinary coordination; contribute to impact studies and permitting. - Lead the subject matter team tasked to complete investigation work and reporting. - Conduct noise and vibration modelling for LRT operations and construction activities. - Develop noise and vibration EMP. - Identify sensitive receptors and develop mitigation strategies (barriers, operational controls, etc.). - Support compliance with municipal and provincial noise guidelines. - Oversee acceptance testing, construction monitoring, and performance verification; recommend corrective actions. - Produce clear, auditable technical deliverables and present results to technical audiences. Qualifications - Bachelor or advanced degree from a recognized university with specialization in mechanical or environmental engineering; acoustics or equivalent. - A designation as an accredited Professional Engineer or have other relevant credentials. - 7 years of relevant experience. Requirements - Experience in environmental and vibration acoustics applied to transportation. - Experience in successfully managing noise and vibration assessments and mitigation measures for transit projects in North America. - Knowledge of relevant federal, Ontario and municipal policies, procedures and legislation; awareness of international best practices in rail/transit. - Ability to liaise with other specialty consultants, contractors, and Governmental Authorities. - Strong command of applicable Ontario/Canadian standards and frameworks, and familiarity with common municipal/provincial/federal criteria. - Proven field measurement skills, data processing, uncertainty analysis, and QA/QC protocols. - Proficiency with acoustic/vibration modeling tools and software; comfortable with GIS and computational/visualization tools. - Ability to translate technical results into practical, cost-optimized recommendations for design and construction. - ASP Construction card and railway safety training, an asset. Personal Qualities - Demonstrated leadership, autonomy, and sound professional judgment. - Rigorous, organized, and able to prioritize and decide under tight deadlines. - Strong communication skills in English, with the ability to clearly explain technical issues. Role Description We are seeking a Lien Resolution Specialist focused on resolving medical and non‑medical liens within the California workers’ compensation system. This role works as part of a lien resolution team, evaluating, negotiating, and resolving liens in partnership with branch claim teams, supporting timely, compliant, and cost‑effective outcomes. - Review, analyze, and resolve California workers’ compensation liens in coordination with, and under the direction of, our Lien Resolution Specialist Lead. - Determine lien validity, jurisdiction, statute of limitations, and appropriate dispute resolution process (SBR, IBR, WCAB, or settlement). - Prepare and issue compliant payment determinations and supporting documentation. - Negotiate lien reductions and settlements consistent with California fee schedules, regulations, and claim strategy. - Ensure compliance with statutory timelines and maintain audit‑ready file documentation. - Coordinate with defense counsel and other external business partners when lien disputes require litigation or WCAB filing.
