Job Description
VP, Product Management
Impinj
Role Description Join Impinj and help us realize our vision of a boundless IoT—connecting trillions of everyday items to the Internet. Team Overview: Voyantic, part of Impinj, is the test and measurement leader for the RAIN RFID and NFC ecosystem. We are looking for an outward-facing product leader — someone whose center of gravity sits at the customer and market boundary, not internal execution alone. You will sit on the management team, report to the General Manager, and lead a small, focused product team spanning product management and solution architecture. A defining part of this role is to shape that vision and lead the effort to make it real. What You Will Do: - Own the overall product vision and strategy, anchored in a market thesis rather than the latest customer request, and balancing growth, market share, and profitability. - Build and lead Voyantic’s emerging cloud offering on top of the testing and encoding products — from vision through architecture, commercial model, and go-to-market — working closely with engineering, Sales, and Finance. - Identify the new applications and segments that keep Voyantic the leader in RAIN RFID and NFC test and measurement. - Be a credible, trusted voice with sophisticated customers and partners — inlay and tag manufacturers, brand owners, integrators, and the Impinj ecosystem — earning it through fluency in their production realities. - Drive product-market fit: synthesize first-hand understanding across many customers into clear direction, and judge the right way to meet each need — whether that is product development or enablement such as application guidance and support material for a specific use case. - Build technology partnerships — together with the Solution Architect — with complementary equipment manufacturers (for example printers, cameras, visual inspection systems, punchers, or other machines), so Voyantic can offer customers an extended, integrated product. - Develop the strategic partnerships that open new segments — business development in the strategic sense, with Sales owning deal-level pursuit — and represent Voyantic externally, reinforcing its independent, vendor-neutral position. - Lead and develop the product team — product managers own their product roadmaps — while you set overall direction and keep prioritization and lifecycle discipline strong, freeing you to spend your time outward. - Partner with R&D, Sales, Marketing, Finance, and Operations across the full product lifecycle. Qualifications - 10+ years in product management for technically complex products combining hardware and software (deep-tech or test and measurement). - Proven experience building or leading cloud, SaaS, or platform products — ideally linking hardware to cloud-based services — able to define the vision and lead execution, not just oversee it. - A strong understanding of industrial production and manufacturing processes — where quality and yield are won or lost, and how test, measurement, and encoding fit in. We value this above deep RFID or RF expertise. - A genuinely outward, customer- and market-driven approach, with the judgment to form a clear product thesis, and comfort operating at the product–business boundary. - Ability to build trusted partnerships at all levels, internally and externally, in a multicultural setting, with excellent communication. - Familiarity with RAIN RFID, NFC, or adjacent RF technologies is useful but not required — the domain depth can be learned on the job. Requirements - This position has access to technologies or data subject to U.S. export control regulations. Under these laws, the release or transfer of export-controlled items or information to individuals who are not classified as "U.S. persons" (as defined by Immigration & Nationality Act) may require prior authorization from the U.S. government. - We may require additional documentation related to national identity to determine whether an export compliance license is required for any export-controlled items. This information is requested solely for the purpose of complying with U.S. export control laws and will not be used for other purposes. Benefits - Know you’re making a difference. - Competitive benefits. - Support for remote work or a desk with a view. - Weekly Q&A sessions with our executive team. - Environment that fosters openness and innovation. - Collaboration and teamwork are highly valued, and accomplishments are duly celebrated. - Open paid time-off policy paired with a respect for work/life balance. Company Description Voyantic is a Finnish technology company that provides test and measurement solutions for the RFID industry. We are the global leader in our field and practically all the leading RFID technology providers use our equipment in their R&D, production, or both. We are an international growth company with over 50 employees and customers on five continents. Voyantic is a wholly owned subsidiary of Impinj, a Nasdaq-listed company with headquarters in Seattle, US.
