Job Description

Business Intelligence Data Engineer

Connexus Credit Union

• Design, build, and support data warehousing (Data Vault 2.0) and BI solutions. • Develop, promote, and provide ongoing support for ETL workflows. • Develop and validate sources to target mappings and transformation logic. • Design and maintain data models used for reporting and analytics. • Modify existing reports, extracts, and dashboards as necessary. • Supports data automation, quality, and governance. • Conduct data profiling, data cleansing, and assessing the integrity of data from multiple sources to ensure high quality data. • Support development of Data Dictionaries and Data Taxonomy for product solutions. • Collaborate with infrastructure team to design and implement internal process improvements, greater scalability, optimization of data delivery, and automating manual processes. • Assist in data migration and data ingestion to core systems during active mergers, acquisitions, or other assigned projects. • Create reusable datasets in support of insights and analytics for the organization. • Create and maintain information and data flow diagrams. • Leverage existing data infrastructure to fulfill all data-related requests, perform necessary data housekeeping, data cleansing, normalization, hashing, and implementation of required data model changes. • Help the broader team identify new features and business opportunities through analysis. • Support upgrades, configuration and troubleshooting for business intelligence tools. • Identify development needs to improve and streamline operations. • Drive best practices in code quality & reusability, data integrity, test design, analysis, validation, and documentation. • Follows established BT standards and practices. • Comply with all Federal Regulations as they pertain to your job duties, including BSA.

Job Requirements

  • Bachelors Degree, or commensurate experience is Required.
  • 3+ years of prior experience in data engineering and business intelligence development is Required.
  • Prior experience working in a financial institution such as a bank or credit union is Required.
  • Working knowledge of Business Intelligence tools (SSRS, SSAS, SSIS, Looker, PowerBI, DAX) is Required.
  • Experience with credit union and bank vendors (MeridianLink, nCino, Fiserv, etc.) is Required.
  • Hands-on experience with AWS cloud technologies like S3, AWS Glue, Glue Catalog, Athena, AWS Lambda, AWS DMS, PySpark, and Snowflake is Required.
  • Experience in writing SQL/NoSQL; Solid understanding of relational databases and business data; ability to write complex queries against a variety of data sources is Required.
  • Experience developing back-end, cloud data warehouse solutions like Snowflake (e.g., managing staging and external tables, variant data types, etc.) is Required.
  • Experience in data engineering or data architecture concepts including approach, data lakes, data extraction, and data transformation is Required.
  • Proficiency in designing, developing, and maintaining ETL (Extract, Transform, Load) processes, tools, and pipelines is Required.

Role Description We are seeking two Junior Power BI Developers to support a large-scale reporting modernization initiative.
