Role Description Visual Matrix is seeking a strategic, hands-on Vice President of Finance to serve as the company's senior finance executive and trusted advisor to the CEO. This role is ideal for an experienced SaaS finance leader who enjoys both strategy and execution. You will own the entire finance function—including: - Accounting - FP&A - Financial reporting - Budgeting - Forecasting - Cash management - Financial operations As a member of the executive leadership team, you will help build the financial infrastructure necessary to support a modern, data-driven SaaS organization. You will: - Develop scalable processes - Improve forecasting accuracy - Strengthen financial controls - Automate manual workflows - Provide clear financial insights that enable better business decisions Initially, this role will assess the existing finance organization, determine the appropriate balance between internal resources and external partners, and build the finance function required to support a growing private equity-backed software company. This position reports directly to the Chief Executive Officer. You're Excited About This Opportunity Because You Will: - Serve as the company's sole finance leader and strategic partner to the CEO, owning both strategic FP&A and the full finance and accounting function. - Assess, build, and scale a modern finance organization, determining the right mix of internal talent, external partners, systems, and processes to support the company's next stage of growth. - Develop driver-based forecasting models, SaaS KPIs, and executive reporting that improve planning, forecasting accuracy, and business decision-making. - Deliver timely, accurate financial reporting and executive- and Board-ready materials that support informed decision-making. - Improve financial controls, reporting processes, and finance systems by leveraging automation and AI-enabled workflows to increase efficiency and scalability. - Partner with department leaders, the Board, auditors, tax advisors, and private equity stakeholders to support strategic planning, capital allocation, and future transaction readiness. - Lead the continued modernization of the finance function, creating scalable processes and infrastructure that enable long-term operational excellence. Qualifications - You have significant finance leadership experience within B2B SaaS or technology businesses. - You possess deep expertise across accounting, FP&A, SaaS metrics, forecasting, and financial modeling, and have successfully partnered with executive teams, Boards of Directors, and private equity investors. - You have built or transformed finance organizations, improving financial reporting, systems, controls, and operational processes in growing businesses. - You bring both strategic leadership and a hands-on mindset, and are energized by building a high-performing finance function from the ground up. - You possess outstanding leadership, communication, and relationship-building skills and thrive in fast-paced, high-accountability environments. - You use modern AI tools responsibly to improve productivity, automate routine work, analyze information, and support better business decisions while exercising sound judgment. - You possess a proactive, solution-oriented mindset and consistently demonstrate an "I'll figure it out" approach. Requirements - Base Salary Range: The target salary range for this position is ($210,000 – $235,000), and is part of a competitive total rewards package including an annual bonus, employer-paid benefits, L&D stipend and incentive pay for eligible roles. - Individual pay may vary from the target range and is determined by a number of factors including experience, location, internal pay equity, and other relevant business considerations. - We review all employee pay and compensation programs annually at minimum to ensure competitive and fair pay. Other Information - Location: New York City preferred. Role Description Be a part of a world-class academic healthcare system, UChicago Medicine, as a Revenue Cycle Financial Specialist with the Revenue Cycle - Patient Access Services Department. This is a remote, work from home opportunity, and you may be based outside of the greater Chicagoland area. In this role, the Revenue Cycle Financial Specialist will be responsible for: - Collecting and verifying demographic, guarantor, and insurance information. - Educating patients, physicians, staff, etc. on the financial process. - Ensuring that preauthorizations/referrals and precertifications are completed in accordance with payor requirements prior to the scheduled encounter. - Working closely with clinical staff to acquire necessary clinical information for the authorization process. - Managing the process of aiding patients and their representatives with securing reimbursement for hospital and physician services provided. - Assisting patients in identifying and selecting an available option for insurance coverage and/or financial assistance. - Collaborating with patients, UCM “coverage vendors,” clinical staff, Patient Financial Services, Ambulatory Patient Financial Specialists, urban health collaborative, and case management/social work. - Managing all patient account types: outpatient, inpatient, ED, and UCPG, while maintaining thorough knowledge of the hospital’s revenue cycle process. - Understanding the hospital's inpatient/outpatient treatment policies and their relation to each patient’s situation. - Coordinating and monitoring the flow of revenue generated by UCMC and UCPG. - Utilizing the hospital's revenue systems and interacting with patients, physicians, insurance companies, donors, and other staff members.
