Growing together. This position is responsible for the day-to-day governance of UHG Corporate Services' Cost Management Program and general support of the FP&A team. This is a newly created role that will have exposure and impact at an enterprise level as a process leader for Corporate. This position will ensure that cost management activities within the real estate and procurement teams are properly defined, measured and reported to stakeholders. It is the responsibility of this position to ensure that the appropriate financial systems and controls are in place to confirm the accuracy and quality of the end products. The position is also responsible for leading financial analysis and modeling of real estate transactions, including acquisitions, dispositions, leases, and development projects. You'll enjoy the flexibility to work remotely * from anywhere within the U.S. as you take on some tough challenges. For all hires in the Minneapolis or Washington, D.C. area, you will be required to work in the office a minimum of four days per week. Primary Responsibilities: - Establish and govern the Cost Management Program for UHG Corporate Services. Single source of truth for intake, review, financial modeling, approval, reporting of all cost management activities; ensuring appropriate scope, definition and data integrity throughout - Partner with stakeholders to solve any gap in performance targets - Lead small-to-medium, cross-functional projects that will establish financial programs to consolidate and promote cost reduction activities - Support the following teams by gathering inputs and assessing financial benefits: Real Estate Strategy and Transaction Management, Finance, Procurement, Legal - Thought partner to the teams above by establishing methods for substantiating and promoting value with an appropriate balance of effort - Governance for third party cost management; reviews work and provides recommendations for improvement - Develop and maintain complex financial models to assess real estate transactions - Monitor ongoing performance of real estate assets against initial projections, updating models as necessary - Prepare investment memoranda and presentation materials summarizing model outputs and recommendations for internal and external stakeholders - Key resource for Corporate Services M&A to support Real Estate integration efforts of acquired entity - Traditional FP&A objectives in support of UHG Real Estate portfolio You'll be rewarded and recognized for your performance in an environment that will challenge you and give you clear direction on what it takes to succeed in your role as well as provide development for other roles you may be interested in. Required Qualifications: - Bachelors degree in Finance or Accounting, or equivalent field - 4+ years of finance and/or accounting experience - 1+ years of leading cross-functional projects to implement finance programs - Intermediate or higher experience in Excel - Traditional corporate finance experience involving large-scale forecasts, month-end review, P&L analysis & commentary, communicating results to customers and/or leadership, etc. - Experience presenting insights and recommendations to senior leadership, with the confidence to constructively challenge assumptions and influence decision-making when appropriate - Experience serving as a process owner and key finance resource within a highly matrixed organization; maintaining relationships with key business partners - Experience leading cross-functional projects to implement finance programs - Proven effective communication skills to present complex financial information clearly to both technical and non-technical stakeholders - Proven analytical thinking with attention to detail and accuracy in model construction - Experience managing a suite of reporting & analysis in which there was accountability for quality and consistency of narrative across, potentially, disparate products Preferred Qualifications: - Experience supporting a real estate and/or procurement organization - Experience in CoStar, Essbase, PeopleSoft - Traditional project management experience - Experience supporting cost reduction activities on behalf of an organization - Experience connecting the needs of internal, business customers to the delivery by operational owners - Experience collaborating with operational owners to identify and communicate financial modeling; with preference given to collaboration in which there was influence without authority *All employees working remotely will be required to adhere to UnitedHealth Group's Telecommuter Policy. The salary for this role will range from $91,700 to $163,700 annually based on full-time employment. We comply with all minimum wage laws as applicable.
