Payroll & Benefits Specialist

Varicent

• Manage payroll processing activities for employees across multiple countries, ensuring accuracy, compliance, and timely delivery • Support payroll reconciliations, investigate discrepancies, and resolve payroll-related issues • Coordinate employee onboarding, offboarding, and employment changes within payroll, benefits, and retirement systems • Maintain payroll records, including compensation updates, benefit elections, deductions, organizational changes, and employee data updates • Respond to employee inquiries related to payroll, benefits, and pay administration processes • Support year-end payroll activities and compliance requirements across global regions • Assist with general ledger reconciliations, vacation accruals, and payroll reporting activities • Monitor regulatory, tax, and legislative updates that may impact payroll and benefits administration

Job Requirements

  • Experience processing Canadian and U.S. payroll within a multi-entity, multi-region, or complex business environment
  • Payroll certification or equivalent payroll administration experience
  • Experience using payroll systems such as UKG, Workday, CloudPay, or similar platforms
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to investigate discrepancies and work with large volumes of payroll data
  • Advanced Excel skills, including functions such as Pivot Tables and VLOOKUPs (or equivalent lookup and reporting functions)
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to manage confidential employee information appropriately
  • Effective written and verbal communication skills in English
  • Degree, diploma, or equivalent experience in Human Resources, Business Administration, Accounting, or a related field

Your Role on the Team: - Process bi-weekly payroll for a designated group of employees, ensuring accuracy, timeliness, and compliance with company policies and applicable regulations. - Review and support employee timekeeping, including troubleshooting timesheet issues and partnering with managers to ensure timely approval - Review, audit, and reconcile payroll data, including employee changes, earnings, deductions, taxes, and timekeeping information. - Serve as a primary point of contact for employee payroll inquiries, providing responsive and high-quality customer service. - Maintain payroll records, generate payroll reports, and support internal and external audits as needed. - Partner with the Payroll Manager and team members to identify opportunities for process improvements and support payroll-related projects and initiatives. Role Description The Payroll Services Consultant guides the overall design and delivery of Dayforce Consulting Services engagements, leveraging Dayforce solutions to meet customer requirements while providing oversight and direction to project team members.
