Role Description As a Forward Deployment Engineer at YLD, you'll embed with a banking client during a proof-of-value or implementation, turning their product requirements into working configuration on the client's platform. You'll sit between the client's regulated banking requirements and their live services, prove your work with captured evidence, and feed any platform friction back to the core engineering team. Your day-to-day responsibilities can look like this: - Turn client requirements into transaction rules, event-driven workflows, and configuration on the client's platform; - Capture before/after evidence of your work so it can be reviewed and replayed by teammates or the client; - Work closely with client teams in collaborative working sessions, explaining technical decisions and translating complex engineering concepts clearly; - Investigate unfamiliar API contracts and client tooling independently to get integrations working; - Debug issues that live in the client's platform rather than your own code, and file clean reproductions back to core engineering; - Actively leverage AI-powered tools and workflows to accelerate development, improve code quality, and drive engineering best practices. Qualifications - Hands-on Python at minimum; Go is a nice-to-have; - Experience with rules engines, workflow orchestration, or event-driven systems (CEL, Temporal, or similar); - Familiarity with Kafka or similar event streaming platforms; - Experience in fintech, core banking, or regulated financial services environments; - Prior core-banking or ledger experience; - Comfort working in an AI-assisted or agentic development workflow. • Perform power system studies including load flow, short circuit, protective device coordination, arc flash, grounding, power quality, harmonic analysis, transient analysis, and reliability studies. • Develop and maintain electrical system models using PSCAD, ETAP, SKM, EasyPower, or similar software platforms. • Perform electromagnetic transient (EMT) studies to evaluate system behavior during switching events, faults, utility disturbances, and large load changes. • Analyze the impact of high-density AI load characteristics, and mission-critical loads on utility, emergency generators, and facility electrical infrastructure. • Support utility interconnection studies and coordinate with utility providers on service requirements and system performance. • Evaluate system reliability, redundancy strategies, contingency scenarios, and power system resiliency. • Prepare technical reports, engineering calculations, study documentation, and recommendations. • Collaborate with electrical design teams on medium-voltage systems, substations, standby generation, UPS systems, mechanical system electrical load characteristics, and utility service infrastructure. • Participate in design coordination meetings with clients, consultants, utilities, and project stakeholders. • Support commissioning activities and provide technical guidance during project execution. • Review engineering deliverables for technical accuracy and compliance with applicable standards.

Role Description We are seeking an experienced IoT Engineer (Industrial IOT) to design and build connected, data-driven industrial systems spanning the factory floor to enterprise cloud platforms. In this role you will architect end-to-end IIoT solutions, including: - Edge data acquisition - Secure connectivity - Cloud ingestion - Real-time analytics - Operational dashboards The ideal candidate will combine strong software engineering skills with practical experience in industrial protocols, edge computing, and cloud IoT platforms. You will work closely with cross-functional partners — product, design, engineering, operations, and business stakeholders — to translate ambiguous requirements into well-engineered solutions. You will also be expected to raise the bar through code review, design review, and mentorship of more junior engineers. Key Responsibilities - Architect end-to-end IIoT solutions spanning edge devices, gateways, connectivity, and cloud platforms. - Design data acquisition pipelines from PLCs, SCADA, and sensors using protocols such as OPC UA, Modbus, MQTT, and Sparkplug B. - Build edge computing applications using AWS IoT Greengrass, Azure IoT Edge, or similar platforms. - Implement secure connectivity using mTLS, certificate management, and zero-trust patterns. - Build cloud ingestion and processing pipelines using AWS IoT Core, Azure IoT Hub, Kafka, or similar. - Develop real-time analytics, anomaly detection, and predictive maintenance models. - Build operational dashboards and alerts for plant managers and operators. - Integrate IIoT data streams with MES, ERP, CMMS, and historian systems. - Implement strong device management, including provisioning, OTA updates, and certificate rotation. - Collaborate closely with OT, process engineering, and reliability teams. - Ensure compliance with relevant industrial cybersecurity standards (IEC 62443, NIST). - Maintain comprehensive, current technical documentation. - Mentor and coach junior and mid-level engineers. - Continuously evaluate emerging IIoT technologies and platforms. Qualifications - Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related technical discipline. - Five or more years of IIoT or industrial software engineering experience. - Strong programming skills in Python, C++, or Go. - Hands-on experience with industrial protocols (OPC UA, Modbus, MQTT, Sparkplug B). - Experience with at least one major cloud IoT platform (AWS, Azure, GCP). - Hands-on experience with edge runtimes (Greengrass, IoT Edge). - Solid understanding of OT/IT integration patterns. - Experience with streaming and real-time analytics platforms. - Familiarity with industrial cybersecurity standards. - Excellent troubleshooting, communication, and documentation skills.
