Role Description As a Forward Deployment Engineer at YLD, you'll embed with a banking client during a proof-of-value or implementation, turning their product requirements into working configuration on the client's platform. You'll sit between the client's regulated banking requirements and their live services, prove your work with captured evidence, and feed any platform friction back to the core engineering team. Your day-to-day responsibilities can look like this: - Turn client requirements into transaction rules, event-driven workflows, and configuration on the client's platform; - Capture before/after evidence of your work so it can be reviewed and replayed by teammates or the client; - Work closely with client teams in collaborative working sessions, explaining technical decisions and translating complex engineering concepts clearly; - Investigate unfamiliar API contracts and client tooling independently to get integrations working; - Debug issues that live in the client's platform rather than your own code, and file clean reproductions back to core engineering; - Actively leverage AI-powered tools and workflows to accelerate development, improve code quality, and drive engineering best practices. Qualifications - Hands-on Python at minimum; Go is a nice-to-have; - Experience with rules engines, workflow orchestration, or event-driven systems (CEL, Temporal, or similar); - Familiarity with Kafka or similar event streaming platforms; - Experience in fintech, core banking, or regulated financial services environments; - Prior core-banking or ledger experience; - Comfort working in an AI-assisted or agentic development workflow. Role Description As a Senior Software Engineer at YLD, you’ll be part of a client team building innovative products. We’re looking for someone curious, passionate, driven, and enthusiastic. You should be skilled in problem-solving and experienced in designing scalable, resilient, and fault-tolerant architectures. You’re also an effective communicator and a strong team player. Together with your team, you’ll thrive in a fast-paced engineering environment, delivering outstanding results and exciting projects. - Building, maintaining, and scaling the analytics platform infrastructure that underpins analytics, data science, and reporting capabilities; - Designing and managing data ingestion pipelines, ensuring reliable and timely flow from multiple sources; - Implementing and maintaining containerized environments with Docker and orchestration with Kubernetes; - Supporting continuous integration and delivery of platform components using GitHub Actions; - Collaborating closely with Analytics Engineers, Data Scientists, and Analysts to deliver scalable, high-performance solutions; - Monitoring platform performance, identifying bottlenecks, and implementing improvements for reliability and efficiency; - Participating in team knowledge-sharing sessions, demos, and internal workshops to promote best practices. Qualifications - Proven commercial experience in Azure or other cloud platforms; - Strong proficiency in Python for scripting, automation, and pipeline development; - Experience with data ingestion and orchestration tools, e.g., Airbyte, Snowflake, or similar; - Experience with containerization (Docker) and orchestration (Kubernetes); - Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines and infrastructure automation (GitHub Actions or equivalent); - Experience with Infrastructure as Code tools such as Terraform; - Exposure to dbt or similar data transformation tooling is a plus; - Understanding of distributed systems, cloud infrastructure, and platform scalability; - Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to debug production issues under pressure; - Comfortable working in cross-functional teams and collaborating with multiple stakeholders. Qualifications - Strong backend and infrastructure engineering background, with hands-on Golang and Java experience. - Experience developing or integrating decentralised systems, data infrastructure, or distributed technologies. - Solid command of cloud infrastructure: AWS, GCP, Kubernetes (EKS/GKE), Terraform, and Flux. - Actively and meaningfully using AI tools in day-to-day coding practice (not just awareness, but advanced, habitual use). - Familiarity with TigerBeetle, YugabyteDB, or Red Panda. - Experience in fintech, core banking, or regulated financial services environments. - Open to occasional travel to London.
