Site Manager / Construction Manager – Substation Projects
GE Vernova Inc
• You will lead our on-site activities for our 110/400 kV transformer substation projects. • You are our on-site representative and the contact person for our client, coordinating your site team and our subcontractors for civil and installation works. • Plan and coordinate all work on site while complying with applicable occupational health, environmental and safety regulations, and contribute to the preparation of work and safety instructions. • Oversee all site activities, including management of subcontractors, to ensure smooth site operations. • Act as the client contact and lead site meetings. • Monitor quality, costs and schedules during construction and report accordingly to project management. • Identify and manage risks and opportunities related to installation activities and report them to project management.
Job Requirements
- Completed training or degree in electrical engineering with several years of professional experience; further qualification as a technician or master craftsman is desirable.
- Experience as a site/construction manager on substation projects or comparable projects (e.g., oil & gas, power plants) or experience with installation of high-voltage components is preferred.
- Strong awareness of health and safety (EHS) according to international standards; ability to identify and stop unsafe work is required.
- Excellent interpersonal, communication and leadership skills, good organizational skills and the ability to produce clear reports.
- Lean mindset: open to further training, new tools and continuous improvement.
- Willingness to travel within Germany and the Netherlands.
- Very good command of German, both written and spoken; English skills are an advantage.
- Driver’s license Class B.
