Senior Managing Counsel, U.S. Medical Network
The Cigna Group
• Lead team of attorneys responsible for supporting U.S. medical network contracting • Act as lead counsel regarding provider relationship, strategy and support • Assist business partners with developing and executing strategic initiatives and key projects impacting medical network • Collaborate with cross-functional legal partners on network products and solutions • Develop strong business relationships with stakeholders involved with Cigna’s provider relationships • Ensure high-quality legal support to key internal clients • Negotiate provider contracts including value-based reimbursement arrangements and delegation agreements • Maintain knowledge of regulatory and enforcement environment affecting the business • Assist business in developing measures to improve contracting governance and implementation • Serve as strategic advisor to the business team and enterprise colleagues on the impact and response to proposed and new rules, regulations and legislation impacting the provider network
Job Requirements
- J.D. from an accredited law school and active bar membership required
- 10+ years of legal experience in a corporate legal department and/or law firm
- 3+ years of experience leading, managing, and developing attorneys and legal teams
- Significant experience supporting provider contracting, provider relationships, and network strategy within the managed care, health insurance, or healthcare industry
- Strong knowledge of federal and state healthcare laws, regulations, and government healthcare programs
- Experience negotiating and drafting complex provider agreements, including value-based reimbursement and delegation arrangements
- Proven ability to advise senior leaders on legal, regulatory, and business strategy matters

Role Description As Senior Corporate Counsel, you will serve as a trusted legal advisor to Safety National's business and executive leadership, helping guide strategic business initiatives while managing complex legal matters across the organization.
