Job Description
Senior Software Architect
nerdware GmbH
• Design and architect modern software solutions — from requirements analysis and architectural decisions through to production implementation • Take responsibility for scalable, maintainable and high-performance system designs based on modern technologies and cloud platforms • Participate in exciting client projects as the technical point of contact for architectural questions • Identify and incorporate AI-driven features or use cases into architectures where they make sense functionally and are economically viable • Design the integration of machine learning models, large language models (LLMs) or data-driven services into existing or new systems — depending on the project context • Provide technological advice to our clients on architecture and technology decisions • Ensure code quality and adherence to architecture standards through clean code, testing, reviews and best practices • Actively shape new technological topic areas — especially in the growing field of artificial intelligence
Job Requirements
- Several years of experience in modern software development with a strong focus on architecture, ideally in a full‑stack environment
- Solid practical experience in the field of artificial intelligence (AI/ML)
- Experience with LLMs, generative AI and data-driven systems, including cloud architecture on AWS and/or Azure
- Independent and responsible working style with strong analytical and conceptual skills
- Ability to develop pragmatic architectural solutions for complex requirements and to think beyond immediate boundaries
- Confident use of clean code practices, SOLID principles and the design of clean software architectures
- High motivation and passion for software architecture and development
- Self-directed, structured working approach and enthusiasm for actively advancing new technologies
Benefits
- Influence architecture: You make technical decisions, set engineering standards and take responsibility for long-lived system designs.
- Makers Lab: In addition to client projects, you develop internal tools and solutions that really move us forward.
- Knowledge sharing: In show‑how sessions and workshops everyone contributes — junior and senior alike.
- Targeted training and professional development on top.
- Genuine say in decisions: Flat hierarchies mean real decision‑making freedom instead of micromanagement.
- Your setup, your choice: Work with the setup that suits you — macOS or Windows? Your decision.
- Flexible working hours: Whether you’re an early bird or a night owl, you work when you’re most productive.
- Remote & home office: Work where you are most productive.
- Workation within the EU: Temporarily working from another location? For us it’s a given.
- Lunch on us: Through LunchIt you receive a €7.50 daily subsidy for your lunch on each working day.
- Compensation: Your experience will be rewarded above average — without long negotiation.
- 30 days vacation: Plenty of time to truly switch off — with flexible planning to make it work.
- From LAN parties to joint quarterly events — we experience real highlights beyond the code.
- Well supplied throughout the day :) A well-stocked fridge with snacks and a wide selection of drinks is always available.
