Senior Software Engineer – Backend
HealthJoy
• Collaborate on architectural decisions and design best practices • Design and implement new features into the HealthJoy platform • Collaborate with engineering and product team members to improve quality and velocity • Creating a scalable solution to serve our growing user base.
Job Requirements
- 5+ years of experience building and shipping scalable applications in Python
- A good understanding of software design principles and industry practices (for example: loose coupling, programming to interfaces). Taking into consideration test-driven approaches and observability.
- Experience with and knowledge of best practices for implementation of AI-assisted tools for process optimization and improved development workflow.
- Familiarity with AI Lean methodologies, including the application of AI to identify and reduce waste in software development processes.
- Track record of developing on backend libraries such as Asyncio, Aiohttp, Flask, SQLAlchemy, or equivalent
- Experience with relational databases (we use Postgres)
- Previous experience with data processing and manipulation workflows and implementation is a plus
- Experience working in an event-driven architecture and the utilization of microservices where applicable.
- At ease in the AWS ecosystem, working with a cluster architecture (we utilize Kubernetes)
- Experience participating in the architecture and design of new and existing products
- An ability and eagerness to constantly learn and share knowledge with others
- Insatiable curiosity to learn new software principles, technologies, and tools
- Passionate about collaborating with developers and testers; distributed team experience will be a plus.
