Role Description Person-centered teaching at Walden requires awareness of the diverse professional and lived experiences of all learners. In this role, instructional responsibilities are primarily focused on doctoral mentoring and dissertation committee service, with a strong emphasis on supporting students through completion. - Create an engaging and supportive learning environment by maintaining regular communication with students, particularly through one-on-one and small group dissertation mentoring. - Foster meaningful connections between coursework, professional development, and students’ real-world experiences. - Support student growth by providing: - Constructive feedback on current performance - Feedforward to guide future development and successful dissertation completion - Play a key part in advancing doctoral student progression, including chairing and serving on dissertation committees, supporting applied and research-based doctoral work, and helping students navigate challenges to completion. - Demonstrate a proactive, student-centered approach, providing individualized support, maintaining consistent engagement, and helping students stay on track throughout the dissertation process. - Remain accessible via email, phone, and scheduled appointments, including evenings and weekends as needed to support doctoral learners. - While limited teaching may occur, the primary focus of this role is dissertation mentorship and committee leadership rather than traditional course instruction. Qualifications - PhD (or earned doctorate) in Human Services or closely related discipline — Required - Preference given to candidates who demonstrate effectiveness within a person-centered teaching model and a Community of Care approach. - Must meet performance expectations outlined for the program area — Required - 3+ years of teaching experience and/or demonstrated capacity for doctoral mentoring within Walden’s Person-Centered and Community of Care model — Preferred - Experience supporting doctoral research committees, including chairing dissertations and advancing students through completion strongly preferred — Required for doctoral mentoring roles - Demonstrated ability to support diverse doctoral students and guide them through complex research or applied doctoral projects. - Experience with distance learning — Preferred Requirements - Serve as a chair and/or committee member on multiple doctoral dissertation committees, with an expected ongoing workload that supports steady student progression and completion. - Participate in dissertation committee meetings and collaborate with academic teams to support student success. - Attend virtual and in-person faculty meetings, residencies, workshops, commencement, and training as required. - Ability to work a student-friendly schedule (evenings/weekends), particularly to accommodate doctoral student availability. - May provide limited teaching support in doctoral coursework as needed. - Participate in team-based collaboration and contribute to a supportive faculty environment. - Perform other duties as assigned. - Adhere to all Walden University faculty expectations as outlined in the Faculty Handbook. - Comply with all policies and standards. Role Description Senior Care Therapy is seeking an experienced Human Resources Generalist to support employee relations and day-to-day HR operations across our multi-state clinical and operational teams.
