Collaborating with cross-functional teams of developers, designers, and product owners, you will be responsible for the creation and implementation of comprehensive manual and automated testing protocols for our EFB mobile iOS Application - FliteDeck Pro. Your contributions will safeguard the dependability and safety of the essential tools relied upon daily by aviation professionals. This is a hybrid position based in Austin, TX, requiring onsite presence at our Austin office 2–3 times per quarter. Fully remote work arrangements may be considered for highly qualified candidates. Key Responsibilities: - Own test strategy and test architecture for a product area, driving decisions on coverage, risk, and release readiness - Design and write manual test plans and execute test cases, and support automated testing for new features and regression coverage across our product suite - Collaborate with developers and product managers throughout the SDLC to understand requirements, identify edge cases, and define acceptance criteria - Identify, document, and track defects clearly and thoroughly, working with engineering to drive issues to resolution - Perform functional, regression, integration, and exploratory testing across iOS/iPad OS and macOS - Analyze test results and provide clear, data-driven quality assessments to stakeholders and leadership - Partner with cross-site engineering teams (including our Gdansk, Poland team) to ensure consistent test coverage and quality standards across the organization - Continuously evaluate and improve test processes, tooling, and best practices to raise the bar on product quality - Create well written documentation and share product workflows through knowledge training and brainstorming sessions Basic Qualifications: - 4-6 years of experience in software quality assurance, test engineering, or a related discipline, including experience testing complex, multi-platform systems - Demonstrated ownership of test strategy and architecture for a product area, not just execution of existing test plans - Strong track record working across iOS/iPadOS/macOS environments in production-grade software - Experience with test management tools such as AIO Tests, JIRA , Charles Proxy, GitHub, VSCode, Terminal - Leveraging AI tools such as Claude / Codex to create test designs - Experience mentoring or providing technical leadership to other QA/test engineers - Proven ability to partner directly with engineering leadership and product managers to define quality standards, risk tolerance, and release readiness criteria - Strong analytical, critical thinking, and problem-solving skills, with sound judgment on prioritizing test coverage under time and resource constraints - Experience working in Agile/Scrum environments, including shaping test processes at the team or org level - Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to represent quality risk and status to senior stakeholders - Self-driven, able to operate with significant autonomy while aligning with broader engineering and product goals Preferred Qualifications: - Experience defining test strategy and quality standards across multiple teams or a full product line, not just a single feature area - Aviation domain knowledge or experience testing safety-critical, certified, or highly regulated software (e.g., DO-178B/DO-200B environments) - Experience with programming/scripting ability (e.g. Swift, Python, bash scripts) - Experience testing across distributed, cross-site engineering teams, including establishing shared quality standards across locations - Experience influencing engineering culture around quality, such as introducing new testing practices, tooling, or shift-left quality initiatives - Prior experience in a QA lead, staff, or principal-level capacity - Familiarity with automated test frameworks (e.g., XCUITest or similar) - Pilot or aviation enthusiast About Jeppesen ForeFlight: Jeppesen ForeFlight is a leading provider of innovative aviation software solutions, serving the Commercial, Business, Military, and General Aviation sectors globally.
