Job Description

Field Service Technician

ABB

• Execute service work as per work instructions and in accordance with ABB quality and safety guidelines. • Deliver quality customer service planning and execute service work as per customer order and expectation. • Showcase expertise by ensuring customer retention by effectively communicating service work timeline and expectations. • Work with the customer (while on-site) to identify opportunities to improve the customer’s operations and eliminate pain points. • Perform field service tasks, identifying technical issues, and perform analysis through remote or on-site activity in service categories and products for which they are certified to perform. • Prepare material lists needed for service activity and ensure that all materials, parts, and equipment are available and of appropriate quality for service activities. • Act as trainer when needed, for field service associates and customers.

Job Requirements

  • High School Diploma and 1 year of electrical preventative maintenance, installation and repair, and experience as licensed field service technician.
  • Experience with required hand and power tools associated with the electrical trade.
  • Strong knowledge and experience of conduit bending (EMT) ability to produce quality day after day.
  • Infrared windows experience preferred.
  • Valid Journeyman Electrician’s License.
  • Working knowledge of current NEC codes.
  • Knowledge and experience working in and around 480V commercial switchboards.
  • Industrial experience considered a plus.
