Senior Relay Field Technician
Qualus
• Perform testing/routine maintenance of Transmission and Distribution substation power equipment • Reading and properly interpreting substation drawings • Support in writing procedures and/or test plans • Testing including verifying voltage and current inputs to relays, verifying metering, calibrating relays • Performing routine troubleshooting and repair of substation relaying and control equipment • Commission new substations and power equipment • Planning, scheduling, and completing test activities efficiently • Providing Project Technical Support to Field Service personnel
Job Requirements
- Minimum of 5 years of field experience in commissioning, panel and equipment checkout, relay calibration, testing and repairing substation relaying and control schemes
- Experience in substation design (including protection & control engineering)
- Experience in substation construction
- Experience in substation commissioning
- Experience in SCADA/Fault Data/SER/Integration-Automation equipment installation and testing
- Knowledge of 3 phase power systems; power system protection & control schemes
- Proficient with test equipment and tool/wiring usage
- Strong interpretation skills of wiring and elementary diagrams
- Basic test skills to perform duties listed above
- Basic PC skills
- Ability to communicate effectively in English (inclusive of reading and writing)
- Valid Driver’s license and good driving record.
