• Oversee and manage electrical utility projects, including transmission, distribution equipment, and relay protection upgrades. • Act as the primary client interface, from initial assessment and qualification of project opportunities to handling all correspondence, inquiries, and submittals. • Experienced with major test equipment software. • Capable of initial review of P&C (Protection & Control) drawings to identify mistakes and scope issues and serve as a primary contact for technical questions on designs, applications, or testing. • Material coordination, crew coordination (P&C and construction), and providing P&C crew oversight and support. • Ensure project success through meticulous planning and compliance. • Drive project execution and resource coordination by maintaining and overseeing schedules, collaborating with the Operations Team to secure necessary equipment and labor, and assisting with onsite work and material procurement as needed. • Participate in regular Production/Client Meetings to ensure alignment and address ongoing project needs. • Build productive relationships with customers, serving as a contact for questions and concerns.
• Complete engineering design and documentation of distribution system projects. • Apply client, industry, and regulatory standards to project designs with guidance from Senior Engineers. • Help prepare construction plans, permit requirements, design sketches, cost estimates, material lists, and construction support using established CSA and client standards. • Participate in field reviews and travel to site to gather site information to support design decisions. • Perform simple engineering checks related to constructability, loading, and basic system impacts. • Collaborate with team members, clients, and 3rd party stakeholders to support project progress and communication. • Maintain organized project documentation and assist with estimating, scheduling, billing, invoicing, and quality reviews. • Use Microsoft Office for project organization and daily communication. • Utilize design tools and project software such as Pole Foreman, Spida-Calc, PLS-CADD, CYME, AutoCAD, Bluebeam, GIS Software (ARC, DAD, EO, DM), SAP, Passport, Maximo, DDS, or similar software. • Produce accurate design packages, meeting project timelines, budgets, and expectations.
• Work directly with large clients (data centers, manufacturing, mining, etc) to address electric service connections, business opportunities, load service, generation, engineering, procurement, construction, load outlook and other electric planning requirements • Provide consultation to the client specific to project development associated with the electric grid interconnection • Assist and strategize in the development of win-win solutions for clients and the interconnection utility, as well as other stakeholders of the client projects • Provide opinions on the technical aspects of development projects as they relate to the electric facilities, estimated power demand, and the interconnection into the grid • Provide opinions and support specific to utility development trends that are occurring, as well as strategies to help clients stay ahead of these trends • Provide support on utility interconnection compliance as may be needed, including but not limited to, utility agreements, load studies, permitting, land rights, load ramp development, and new project connection(s) • Assist with the development and execution plans for contract interpretation, dispute resolution, utility tariffs administration and other rules and/or regulations related to electric service • Provide internal support for new project initiation, client agreements, cost estimating and tracking, variance reporting, invoicing, monthly project reporting, and additional business support functions
• Perform comprehensive QA/QC reviews of utility transmission design packages to ensure compliance with client specifications, industry codes (NESC, NEC), and engineering standards. • Validate design accuracy, completeness, and constructability, including reviewing design checklists, redlines, field data, and structural calculations. • Identify design inconsistencies, omissions, and potential constructability issues; provide clear corrective feedback to design teams. • Collaborate with project managers, design engineers, drafters, and field personnel to resolve design discrepancies and ensure timely corrections. • Develop and maintain QA/QC procedures, workflows, and best practices to improve design quality and reduce rework. • Track QA/QC metrics and maintain documentation of review findings, trends, and corrective actions. • Assist in training and mentoring junior engineers and designers on quality standards and client requirements. • Support pre-construction coordination by addressing QA/QC concerns that may impact field execution. • Provide technical recommendations to management for continuous improvement of QA/QC processes and standards. • Ensure adherence to project schedules by maintaining efficient QA/QC turnaround times without compromising quality. • Participate in client meetings, audits, and internal reviews related to quality control and engineering standards compliance. • Assist in the implementation of digital QA/QC tools and systems to streamline review workflows and reporting.
• Provides oversight and manages the full lifecycle from customer applications through energization. • Serves as the central coordinator across engineering, construction, regulatory, and customer facing work streams to ensure compliant, efficient, and reliable integration of renewable generation onto the grid. • Overseas the interconnection application pipeline and drives projects through studies, agreements, and approvals on schedule. • Serves as primary point of contact for Commercial and Industrial interconnecting customers. • Lines engineering, compliance and construction teams with FERC, NERC, and state PUC requirements. • Tracks program health metrics and reports to leadership including power BI dashboards, and work trackers. • Supports business development by participating in project scoping, fee development, proposal preparation, interviews, negotiations, and contract development. • Reviews assigned project(s) after award to define project scope, determine work procedures/sequences and develops schedules, budgets, staffing, vendor lists and progress billing points. • Meets with client management as necessary during the term of a project to resolve issues and to obtain approvals at the project’s completion. • Maintains a continuing business relationship with clients as part of ongoing business development efforts. • Plans, organizes, communicates and coordinates project engagements. • Manages the day-to-day activities of project engagements including Clients and Project Teams. • Achieve project objectives including quality/scopes, budgets, and schedules. • Analyzes project performance and resource utilization. • Identifies potential out of scope work. • Manages, and negotiates contract change orders. • Identifies and manages project risk from the proposal phase through the duration of the project. • Trains, mentors, and oversees other Project Managers and conducts/participates in portfolio and project reviews.
• Coordinate with Substation Physical Engineering, Relay Settings, and other groups to ensure design concurrence • Development of complete engineering design packages for protective relaying and communications systems, including one-line diagrams, three-line diagrams, AC schematics, DC schematics, logic and functional diagrams, panel layouts, control house layouts, wiring/connection diagrams, interconnection diagrams, relaying equipment specifications and bill of materials • Development of SCADA packages, including input / output list (Point Data Sheet) • Provides technical direction and on-the-job training to drafters, engineering technicians, and less experienced engineers • Developing, nurturing and maintaining trusted relationships with senior level engineers, managers, and executives with current or prospective clients • Confidently and comfortably present technical solutions to key customers; respond in real time to technical concerns and answer questions in a knowledgeable articulate manner • Direct and/or participate in client meetings/job site visits to collect or deliver design and engineering data • Perform/Ensure company’s Quality Assurance/Quality Control (QA/QC) processes are followed on all design packages • Delegating, planning, prioritizing and reviewing the work of other engineers will be critical
• Directs and coordinates teams to resolve conflicts and interpret rules to support the operation of an electrical utility system. • Organizes cross-functional teams to address unique, complex or recurring issues affecting efficient operation. • Develops and suggests work instructions and restoration plans for both planned and emergent work on the electrical system. • Identifies work bundling opportunities at an asset level and develops a coordinated work plan to ensure shutdowns are planned, assessing risks to the electrical system. • Works closely with system study engineer and project scheduler to ensure accuracy of long-term shutdown schedule. • Organizes and leads huddle and shutdown schedule review meetings. • Organizes and leads cross-function team meetings especially for complex and back-to-back shutdowns in the same area/regions. • Champions continuous improvement initiatives focused on shutdown optimization and coordination of resources. • Attends operations committee meetings and advises on recommended practices on cross-functional safety. • Provides feedback on operating articles and documents to safely achieve corporate objectives. • Ensures the authority of the system operations personnel is understood and executed to safely restore customers in an expedient manner. • Reviews contingency plans for complex projects.
• Lead the successful execution of electrical utility technology projects related to ADMS, OMS, EMS and DERMS operational control systems. • Act as a client interface, from initial assessment and qualification of project opportunities to handling correspondence, inquiries, and submittals. • Ensure project success through detailed planning and compliance, which involves reviewing and briefing stakeholders on all project specifications, instructions, and contractual requirements, as well as organizing bids. • Own the project plan, schedule, budget, and milestones. • Establish and enforce project governance. • Coordinate across IT, OT, cybersecurity, operations, and compliance. • Manage dependencies across multiple programs. • Drive project execution and resource coordination by maintaining and overseeing schedules. • Tightly track and forecast operating budgets. • Provide accurate and timely resource demand forecasts and financial variance reporting. • Identify and manage project, technical, and operational risks. • Manage a wide range of stakeholders.
• Oversee all aspects of assigned interconnection projects, ensuring compliance with company policies, regulations, and laws. • Supports the interconnection Project Managers by assisting in tracking project milestones, facilitating communications between internal teams and customers, and ensuring program documentation and reporting are accurate and up to date. • Monitors application status, updates project trackers, and flags milestone delays or risk to the Project Manager. • Assist in responding to customer inquiries, preparing status updates, and coordinating meetings across internal and external stakeholders. • Maintains project files, tracks regulatory deadlines, and assist in preparing reports, and agreement packages. • Compiles program metrics, updates dashboards, and supports leadership reporting and project performance. • Manage the development and evaluation process for bid documents related to engineering, design, and construction. • Coordinate procurement of materials and equipment for project execution. • Ensure thorough documentation and completion of all project phases. • Independently manage smaller projects, demonstrating proficiency in the full Project Lifecycle and project controls requirements.
• Develop, implement, and maintain Monthly Forecasting, Invoicing, and Cost Reporting • Experience with Project Controls concepts such as project initiation, planning, execution, monitoring & controlling, and closeout • Specific experience with Cost Engineering concepts such as project estimating, forecasting, cost controls, and variance reporting • Ability to develop and maintain budgets • Provide various Project information reports • Complete understanding of the Accrual Processes, invoice review, and validation • Responsible for managing multiple projects concurrently • ERP financial experience is preferred • Requires self-starting skills
