• Act as the Qualus’ Protection & Control Subject Matter Expert (SME), providing technical governance across multiple projects and programs • Set and uphold protection, control, and metering philosophy, standards, and best practices for high voltage substations • Serve as Principal Engineer or Technical Authority on complex, high risk, or non-standard projects, providing final technical approval and direction • Provide review and approval of: -Protection planning, philosophy, and application documents -One-lines, schematics, logic diagrams, panel layouts, and wiring diagrams • Oversee protection coordination studies and relay settings for utility transmission systems, including review and validation of work performed by others • Chair or participate in senior-level design reviews, hazard and risk assessments, and near miss investigations • Support Factory Acceptance Tests (FATs), Site Acceptance Tests (SATs), and critical field inspections for complex installations • Advise project teams on construction sequencing, outage planning, and commissioning strategy • Participate in client technical, Safety by Design, and constructability review meetings • Provide technical oversight for project scopes, feasibility studies, cost estimates, and definition-phase deliverables, including review of assumptions and risks • Support Business Development by contributing technical strategy, execution approaches, and risk assessments for proposals and pursuits • Act as a primary technical escalation point for clients, internal teams, and external partners • Mentor senior and junior engineers, and play a key role in the continuous improvement of P&C standards, tools, and engineering practices

• Power your future with Qualus in our Field Engineering department as a Relay Field Technician III. • The Relay Field Technician III is responsible for execution of commissioning and testing of protection & control schemes and systems for customers’ electric utility substation and plant location, including but not limited to the range of Intelligent Electronic Devices (IED). • Such schemes and systems are commonly applied to protect, monitor, and control utility distribution, transmission, and power plant assets. • The systems and schemes include SCADA systems and the communications media between IEDs, whether considered a “relay”, meter, Remote Terminal Unit (RTU), Digital Fault Recorder/Transient Recorder (DFR), or interfacing with an IEC-61850 or other multifunction media converter or intelligent logic device. • Red-lines design documents throughout the drawing set (Single Line, AC/DC Elementary, Wiring, Panel Arrangement, and Bill of Material/Material List) • Performs End-To-End testing • Performs IED testing, both manually and with operating automated test sets (such as the Doble 6150, Omicron, Manta) for protection & control schemes. • Identifies common risks associated with testing and commissioning those schemes and systems. • Develops test plans, risk assessments, and practical application of basic protection & control systems and schemes. • Analyzes scope and drawing interpretations to create comprehensive functional guidelines and risk assessments. • Leads people and tasks within a larger project, or provide technical and people leadership on projects with well-defined scopes of work. • Performs weekly site safety inspections. • Leads the application of HP with the approval of the Project Lead. • Supports Company and Customer policies and procedures.

• Develop and direct important projects or field assignments with complex features. • Includes performing engineering studies, proposing solutions to engineering-related problems, and developing models for improvement programs. • Perform system analysis using operational criteria and tools (CYME, EMS) • Works closely with system study engineer and project scheduler to ensure accuracy of long-term shutdown schedule. • Organizes and leads huddle and shutdown schedule review meetings. • Organizes and leads cross-function team meetings especially for complex and back-to-back shutdowns in the same area/regions. • Champions continuous improvement (CI) initiatives focused on shutdown optimization and coordination of resources.

• Provide production CAD support by developing, implementing, and enforcing CAD standards while supplying technical support for all CAD related software. • Prepare clean, complete, and accurate documents, design and working drawings (including details) from rough or detailed specifications or sketches as prepared by the engineers by performing the following duties: Following drawing production standards. • Preparing construction drawings submission packages and as-built. • Preparing quality checks on final drawings and layouts. • Cleaning CAD files for project closeout. • Set up project drawing files, schedule drawing completions. • Develop single-line diagrams, three-line diagrams, AC and DC schematics, panel layouts, wiring diagrams, sections and details using CAD software (AutoCAD and/or MicroStation). • Maintaining CAD document archive and retrieval for projects and the integrity of the drawing and its system. • Act as a liaison for operations, project teams, engineering design house and vendors. • Assist the engineer with coordination and shop drawing review during the final administration of projects. • Organize CAD drawings and files. • Creating and generating design reports to include creating rendering, material takeoffs, central files and work sets, and schedules and legend types.
