Role Description The Health and Services Operation of Leidos is seeking a Mid-level ServiceNow System Engineer to work either full-time remotely or onsite full-time supporting our client in Bethesda, MD. The System Engineer will develop plans and technical approaches for and implement transitioning multiple organizational processes, including but not limited to: - All aspects of Software Development Lifecycle - Release Management - Operational maintenance and support - Security and Audit support from the current set of tools to the ServiceNow platform. Candidates MUST: - Be a US Citizen or Green Card holder with the ability to obtain and maintain HHS Public Trust clearance - Currently be located in the UNITED STATES for the CURRENT three consecutive years PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES: - Plan, design, and pilot transitioning existing solutions supporting SDLC, security, and operational processes from the current toolset to the cloud-based ServiceNow platform. - Establish technical foundation, design, and reference implementations for developing hybrid solutions utilizing cloud-based and on-premises tools and components to meet the organization’s and/or project needs. - Perform hands-on development and coordinate rollout of new and updated solutions, processes, and capabilities across the organization, including preparing documentation and conducting staff training. - Evaluate newly available offerings from vendors to identify, evaluate, pilot, and implement additional capabilities benefiting the organization's needs and goals. Qualifications - Bachelor’s degree, or higher, and a minimum of 5 years of experience in System Engineering, Computer Science, Information Systems, or other related fields. - Minimum 3 years’ experience with ServiceNow setup and administration, including a minimum of 1 year of hands-on experience with ServiceNow SPM and the platform API. - A combination of technical knowledge and soft skills to introduce, design, implement, and support solutions for existing and new processes using the ServiceNow platform for Federal or other public sector organizations. - Deep technical knowledge of ServiceNow SPM application, including proven hands-on experience developing solutions using a combination of the platform's native capabilities and custom development to drive and support complex organizational processes. - Experience implementing hybrid solutions using cloud-based ServiceNow platform and on-premise data stores, tools, and systems using ServiceNow API, choosing strengths and capabilities of each component to deliver solutions in a time- and cost-efficient manner. - Knowledge and understanding of project management and configuration management processes, procedures, and principles for a large software development organization. - Demonstrated ability to operate within a systems engineering or configuration management team supporting 10+ divisions and teams within an organization. Preferred Qualifications - Understanding of fundamental principles, capabilities, and risks of AI-based services and tools, as well as prior experience extending existing solutions or developing new solutions taking advantage of AI capabilities, is a plus.
