- You're fluent in Python and have real production experience in Django. Wagtail experience is a plus.
- You can navigate and contribute to a Next.js codebase; you don't need to be a JS specialist, but front-end shouldn't be a black box to you
- You have a deep, practical understanding of the HTTP request/response cycle, REST API design, and how web applications work end-to-end
- You've worked with AWS services and modern observability tooling (Datadog, Sentry, or equivalents) in production
- You have a track record of mentoring and growing engineers—not just technically, but as people
- You've integrated AI/LLM capabilities into production applications, or you're someone who's clearly been building toward it
- Bonus points: experience leading high-traffic consumer web platforms, familiarity with content-driven sites and editorial workflows, and comfort with CI/CD pipelines (GitHub Actions) and modern testing approaches (Playwright or similar)
Benefits
- Flexible, remote work environment (see our open states above)
- No "vacation policy" (not to be confused with a "No vacation" policy)
- Generous fully-paid parental leave
- $1,000 annually to invest in stocks of your choice
- Super low premiums for medical, dental, and vision coverage
- Comprehensive compensation package, including company equity
