Qualifications - Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering/Architectural Engineering from an ABET Accredited school. - Proficient verbal and written communication in the English language. - Strong knowledge of structural building codes: IBC, AISC 360, AISC 341, AISC 358, ASCE7, AISI, etc. - Structural Engineer (S.E.) registration in the United States with the ability to be licensed in Illinois. - Resides within the continental United States, availability as followed: - Minimum 8 consecutive hours - Available from 9 am to 3 pm CST - Ability to travel to home division or job sites as needed. Role Description The position will be responsible for complete and complex engineering systems, plant structures and arrangements with minimal supervision. Plans and executes the presentation of these in graphic form or in detailed scale models. Works independently on design projects or may direct the technical work of others. This will provide CSA engineering and design support to one or a number of Bechtel projects. Reporting to the Project Engineering Manager for project requirements, and the Chief CSA Engineer for functional requirements, they will have overall responsibility for the CSA design of Mineral Processing Plants including managing sub contracts, and coordinating with client and suppliers. The Project EGS will be fully responsible for the engineering performed by all parties with regard to compliance to project requirements, code compliance, completeness and level of detail, and constructability. In addition, the EGS will maintain responsibility for monitoring performance and initiating corrective actions for all work performed by Bechtel, and for monitoring and recommending corrective actions performed by third party design house.
