Role Description We’re seeking a Lead Engineer / Architect to support a major migration effort. This is a hands-on leadership role for someone with deep expertise in Kubernetes and Azure. You will guide the migration of complex systems to cloud-native environments, set architectural standards, and help the engineering teams deliver scalable and reliable solutions. This is not a DevOps-only role. We need a technically strong engineer who can lead architecture decisions, contribute to coding when necessary, and collaborate across backend, frontend, and cloud infrastructure teams. This role is ideal for someone who thrives in high-ownership environments, enjoys solving migration challenges, and can balance hands-on work with strategic architectural guidance. Primary Responsibilities - Lead the migration of systems to cloud-native platforms, primarily Azure - Own and drive architecture decisions across a Kubernetes-based platform - Serve as the go-to expert for Kubernetes design, scaling, and optimization - Define and implement best practices for containerization, orchestration, observability, and reliability - Mentor engineering teams and guide technical discussions - Ensure that migrated systems are secure, scalable, and maintainable - Balance long-term architectural vision with hands-on execution during the migration - Collaborate on backend services (Golang) and frontend integrations (React) as needed Qualifications - 7+ years of professional software engineering experience - Deep expertise in Kubernetes (design, scaling, troubleshooting, production operations) - Strong Azure experience - Proven experience with distributed systems and cloud-native architecture - Experience operating production systems with high reliability standards - Excellent communication skills and ability to lead technical initiatives - Strong English (written and verbal) Requirements - Backend development experience in Golang (Nice to Have) - Familiarity with frontend technologies (React) (Nice to Have) Other Information - The work hours will be approximately 9:00 am to 5:00 pm EST, depending on workload, with the occasional late night when a tight deadline calls for it. - We work for security-conscious clients, thus background checks will be required. - Position available immediately.
