Role Description We are looking for a highly skilled and proactive Business Application Systems Engineer who can translate business requirements into scalable technical solutions, contribute across the full application lifecycle, and thrive in a fast-paced Agile environment. The ideal candidate brings strong systems, integration, and database expertise; can troubleshoot complex issues; and works effectively across cross-functional teams to deliver secure, reliable, and business-focused outcomes. Success in this role requires a combination of technical depth, sound judgment, collaboration, and a continuous improvement mindset. - Support, maintain, and enhance ERP platforms and core financial systems, including General Ledger, Order-to-Cash, Procure-to-Pay, Revenue Recognition, Billing, and connected systems. - Research and analyze business requirements, provide conceptual and detailed designs, and deliver solutions across Finance, billing, and enterprise applications. - Engage in all aspects of development including understanding business requirements and testing support to analyze and mitigate issues. - Anticipate and proactively manage system and software design needs. - Apply deep systems, database, and application knowledge to troubleshoot and resolve complex issues, perform root cause analysis, optimize performance, and support business-critical processes using advanced SQL and configuration expertise. - Participate in code reviews and change management (release) process to develop and implement new applications and updates to existing applications. - Interface with third-party software vendors to escalate and resolve integration and software/technical issues. - Collaborate cross-functionally with senior level management, business owners, solution architects, business system analysts, project managers, and other engineers/developers to discuss technical options to meet business requirements to achieve secure and scalable solutions. - Promote and follow established processes, policies, standards, and procedures to assure compliance with corporate and regulatory requirements. - Plan, support, and manage the application lifecycle across development, test, and production environments, including environment health, server patching coordination, maintenance activities, and operational support in accordance with enterprise best practices and defined standards. - Lead and contribute to ERP integrations between financial systems and adjacent platforms such as CRM, HRIS, Data Warehouses, and third-party vendors. - Develop and maintain architectural diagrams, integration documentation, and operational runbooks to support system integrity, audit readiness, and knowledge sharing. - Maintain pulse on emerging tools, software practices, and technologies to improve solution cost and quality. Qualifications - Bachelor’s degree in computer science or engineering. - 8-10 years working in an IT environment. - 6-8 years working as a developer/systems engineer. - Experience leading complex projects/tasks. - Strong hands-on experience with a variety of code, interface, API, and database concepts, .NET, C#, SQL Server. - Experience in full project life cycle development for systems and applications. - Experience integrating and customizing business applications. - Costpoint experience preferred. - US Citizenship is required for this position.
