Genetic Counselor – Fertility

• Provide direct patient care for patients and couples via telegenetic counseling (video conference) • Facilitate the delivery of genetic test results • Engage in professional growth opportunities including writing abstracts and publications • Provide physician education and participate in other projects

Job Requirements

  • Masters degree in Human Genetics or Genetic Counseling
  • American Board of Genetic Counseling (ABGC) certification or Active Candidate Status for ABGC
  • Multi State Genetic Counselor license or ability to obtain multi-state GC licenses
  • 2 years or more experience as a certified Genetic Counselor (post completion of Masters degree)
  • 2 years or more experience of women’s health genetic counseling
  • 2 years or more experience of infertility genetic counseling
  • Highly organized
  • Strong multi-tasking ability
  • Excellent time management skills
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and oral
  • Strong computer skills; proficiency with Microsoft Office

JOB DESCRIPTION AND POSITION REQUIREMENTS Penn State Hazleton Continuing Education is seeking applicants to serve as a Counselor for various youth programs on Penn State Hazleton's Campus. The Youth Counselor’s primary task is to assist the Instructor with daily functions to ensure that each participant is provided a quality and enjoyable learning experience. The Youth Counselor will report to the Interim Regional Lead for Continuing Education at Penn State Scranton and staff as designated at the Penn State Hazleton Campus. Youth Counselor responsibilities include: - Being attentive to participants safety; - Being available to provide assistance in the classroom; - Providing feedback. This position requires participation in Mandated Reporter Training and successful background checks prior to the first day of the program including the Child Abuse Training Certificate. Position pays $13/hour. Must be at least 18 years old.
