Job Description

Project Manager – Power Capital Projects

Sand Cherry

• Lead Power CapEx projects from early planning and Front End Loading (FEL) through construction, commissioning, and handover. • Establish project controls, governance, and execution plans in a developing organization. • Manage Engineering, Procurement, and Construction (EPC) partners delivering $100MM+ capital projects. • Own scope, schedule, cost, and risk using classical project management practices. • Interface with investors, partners, regulators, and technical teams to drive alignment and decisions. • Strong project management skills and good knowledge of contract types and project strategies. • Strong integration and communication skills allowing result delivery through distributed teams. • Ability to understand complex problems and ensure efficient use of resources to deliver project results. • Demonstrate safety leadership, integrity, accountability, and transparency. • Document and apply lessons learned for continuous process improvement. • Ensure the project’s economic model is accurate weighing risks and validating input. • Collaborate across functions such as Geology, Land, Business Development. • Develop and apply the project playbook and best practices tool kit. • Assist in managing vendor, supplier, and service providers.

Job Requirements

  • Proven Project and/or Program Management experience utilizing PM methodology and tools.
  • Minimum of 10+ years in oil and gas industry in project, program management or consulting capacity.
  • Direct experience leading $100MM+ Power CapEx projects.
  • Leadership experience to manage and drive projects through full life cycle from scope to delivery.
  • Strong individual contributor experience in an oil and gas environment.
  • Understand safe design principles, process safety concepts, and exhibit personal safety leadership.
  • Ability to integrate, align and motivate a team of people across a common project mission.
  • Communication skills, setting of priorities, delegation, performance management of both internal and external resources.
  • Comfort with pace and with managing multiple competing priorities with confidence and professionalism.
  • Ability to develop and then deliver a complex set of competing objectives.
  • Strong Critical Path Method (CPM) scheduling, cost control, and change management skills.
  • Experience with Contract development, Contractor management and project contract strategies.
  • Proficient in Excel, PPT, MS Project.
