Role Description As a Senior Payroll Tax Analyst, you will play a leadership role within the payroll tax team by providing guidance to Payroll Tax Analysts, managing customer escalations, and driving operational excellence. This role is focused on ensuring employees are taxed accurately and that payroll tax processes are executed with the highest level of quality and compliance. Success is measured through accurate year-end tax reporting and minimizing W-2 corrections for our customers. - Serve as the first point of contact and provide day-to-day leadership, guidance, and support to Payroll Tax Analysts. - Lead customer calls related to payroll tax escalations, providing expertise and driving successful resolution. - Deliver best practice presentations and customer-specific guidance to clients and internal teams. - Promote proactive communication by responding promptly to team members and customers and engaging additional leadership support when needed. - Drive innovative solutions and recommend process improvements that align with business strategy and operational excellence. - Share knowledge, best practices, and subject matter expertise across the team to support continuous learning and scalability. - Manage an assigned portfolio of customers while performing the responsibilities of a Payroll Tax Analyst as required. - Partner with leadership on strategic projects that support team development, operational improvements, and organizational objectives. - Demonstrate initiative by identifying opportunities, leading projects, and driving successful outcomes. Qualifications - 5+ years of experience in payroll tax, payroll administration, human resources, or a related field. - High school diploma or GED required; Bachelor's degree preferred. - Fundamental Payroll Certification (FPC) or Certified Payroll Professional (CPP) certification required within two years of hire. - Demonstrated leadership skills with the ability to mentor and support team members. - Strong analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making abilities. - Excellent verbal and written communication skills. - Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment. - Customer-focused mindset with a commitment to service excellence. Requirements - Experience leading or mentoring payroll tax professionals. - Experience presenting payroll tax best practices to customers or internal stakeholders. - Strong knowledge of payroll tax compliance, year-end processing, and W-2 reporting. - Experience driving process improvements and operational excellence initiatives. - Experience working within a managed services or payroll outsourcing environment.
