Role Description The Tax Manager is responsible for supporting a broad range of corporate tax functions, including tax provision, compliance, and planning. This role plays a critical part in ensuring accurate financial reporting, maintaining compliance with federal, state, and international tax regulations, and supporting strategic tax initiatives. The position partners cross-functionally with finance, legal, and external advisors to drive efficient tax operations and informed decision-making. Key Responsibilities - Manage and/or assist in the preparation of quarterly and annual tax provisions in accordance with ASC 740, including related financial reporting requirements. - Prepare and review reconciliations of tax-related general ledger accounts. - Oversee and coordinate the preparation of U.S. federal, state, and international tax returns, as well as non-income and informational filings with external service providers. - Support the preparation and review of tax return workpapers, ensuring alignment with financial reporting. - Review state income tax apportionment calculations, state filings, and select pro forma federal returns prepared by external advisors. - Calculate and prepare quarterly federal and state estimated tax payments. - Maintain and manage the global tax compliance calendar in collaboration with third-party providers. - Partner with external advisors on the annual R&D tax credit study, including data collection, analysis, and coordination with internal stakeholders. Qualifications - Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related business discipline. - 5–8 years of relevant tax experience (public accounting experience preferred or a mix of public and private). - Strong knowledge of U.S. corporate tax principles. - Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel. - Ability to research tax laws and apply sound judgment to reach well-reasoned conclusions. Requirements - CPA certification strongly preferred. - Experience with ASC 740 tax provision processes and reporting. - General understanding of international tax concepts. - Demonstrated project and program management skills. - Ability to manage multiple complex projects independently with minimal supervision. - Strong attention to detail and organizational skills. - Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to collaborate cross-functionally.
