Solution Developer

The Solution Developer will contribute to the development of reusable digital solutions that strengthen data quality, reporting, analytics, and decision support across different initiatives. This role will help develop scalable digital enablement tools that can be adapted across multiple projects and business areas. Key Responsibilities and Tasks - Digital Solution Development (35%) - Design, develop, and maintain reusable digital applications and workflows using Microsoft Power Platform, Power Apps, Visual Studio, VS Code, and modern development frameworks. - Develop user-friendly interfaces and business applications that improve access to operational, financial, and program information. - Build and maintain APIs and integrations with organizational systems. - Database Administration & Data Management (30%) - Design, administer, secure, and optimize SQL Server and Azure SQL databases. - Develop database objects including stored procedures, views, functions, validation rules, and data models. - Monitor database performance, backups, security, and availability while ensuring data integrity and compliance. - Reporting, Analytics & Data Integration (20%) - Develop reporting solutions, dashboards, and data models supporting budgeting, forecasting, financial management, and program performance. - Design and maintain ETL/ELT processes and data integration pipelines. - Support Microsoft Fabric, Power BI, and related analytics platforms where applicable. - Innovation, AI & Continuous Improvement (10%) - Identify opportunities to improve business processes through automation, reusable digital tools, and emerging technologies. - Support the responsible implementation of AI-enabled capabilities including natural language queries, automated reporting, forecasting insights, data quality monitoring, and decision-support tools. - Apply AI-assisted development tools to improve software quality, testing, documentation, and productivity. - Collaboration, Documentation & Support (5%) - Collaborate with business stakeholders to gather requirements, validate solutions, and support implementation. - Prepare technical documentation, deployment guides, user documentation, and operational procedures. - Participate in testing, code reviews, release management, and continuous improvement initiatives. Qualifications - Proven experience as a Developer, Database Administrator, or similar role with Microsoft SQL Server. - Strong T-SQL skills and experience with database performance optimization. - Experience with Azure SQL or ability to learn and apply Azure SQL concepts quickly. - Experience with Power Apps and familiarity with the Microsoft Power Platform. - Web development experience using technologies such as JavaScript/TypeScript, .NET, REST APIs, HTML, and CSS. - Understanding of software development lifecycle practices, including Git, testing, documentation, deployment, and release management. - Proven ability to design practical database-driven solutions, reporting workflows, and user-facing features from business requirements. - Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and problem-solving abilities. - Effective communication skills and ability to work with both technical and non-technical stakeholders. - Strong ownership and ability to work independently under tight timelines. - Collaborative mindset with strong attention to detail, especially around data quality, security, and usability. - Ability to balance technical implementation with user needs, operational constraints, and long-term maintainability. - Comfort working in an evolving environment where requirements, data sources, and AI-enabled opportunities may develop over time. - Commitment to responsible, secure, and practical use of technology to improve efficiency and decision-making.
