Role Description Stellar Virtual seeks a highly motivated and certified Secondary Math Teacher to join our team in Iowa. This remote position will be responsible for delivering engaging and effective math instruction to students in grades 6-12 through our virtual learning platform. The ideal candidate will possess a strong understanding of mathematics concepts, excellent communication and technology skills, and a passion for fostering a positive and supportive online learning environment. - Deliver engaging and interactive live virtual lessons aligned with the Iowa State Standards for Mathematics for grades 6-12. - Utilize a variety of online teaching methodologies, resources, and technologies to cater to diverse learning styles and needs. - Develop and deliver asynchronous learning activities, including interactive assignments, projects, and discussions. - Provide clear and timely feedback on student work to promote understanding and growth. - Facilitate small group instruction and provide individualized support to students as needed. - Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of student attendance, grades, and progress. - Implement the Stellar Virtual mathematics curriculum effectively and adapt instruction to meet individual student needs. - Develop and administer formative and summative assessments to monitor student learning and inform instruction. - Analyze student data to identify learning gaps and adjust teaching strategies accordingly. - Collaborate with curriculum specialists and other teachers to enhance the mathematics curriculum. - Maintain regular and effective communication with students and parents regarding academic progress, assignments, and concerns. - Support on-site testing events periodically throughout the year (required). - Respond promptly to student and parent inquiries via email, phone, and virtual meetings. - Participate in virtual professional development opportunities and collaborate with colleagues on best practices in online education. - Work collaboratively with student support services, such as counselors and special education staff, to address student needs. - Attend virtual staff meetings and contribute to the overall success of the Stellar Virtual program. Qualifications - Minimum of two (2) years of successful teaching experience, preferably in a secondary setting. - Experience teaching a range of secondary mathematics courses (e.g., Pre-Algebra, Algebra I & II, Geometry, Trigonometry, Calculus, Statistics). - Proven experience working independently with minimal supervision, including the ability to manage a digital task list and maintain a stable remote (home-office) infrastructure. - Minimum of 1–2 years of experience using the Google Workspace suite (Docs, Sheets, Slides, Drive) in a professional or academic setting. - Demonstrated ability to communicate complex ideas via written channels (Email, Google Chat, and Document Comments) with high clarity and low ambiguity. - Access to a private, secure, high-speed internet connection with a minimum of 25 Mbps download and 10 Mbps upload speeds. - Demonstrated experience in utilizing online learning platforms and educational technology tools. - Excellent written and verbal communication skills. - Strong organizational and time management skills. - Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a virtual environment. - Passion for working with students and fostering their academic growth. - Residency in the state of Iowa is required.
