Job Description

Market Intelligence Analyst

Gain

Role Description We are hiring a Market Intelligence Analyst to help scale the Intelligence Origination team, the function at the heart of our private market coverage, responsible for sourcing, structuring and enriching proprietary intelligence on live M&A transactions. This is a builder's role. You will develop and maintain Origin , the team’s internal deal intelligence tracker, and design the AI-powered workflows that turn raw market signals into structured, investment-grade data. You will work with our Bangalore-based analyst team and our Europe- and US-based team of experienced financial journalists, and you will get rare hands-on exposure to the mechanics of live M&A transactions: valuation dynamics, advisor mandates, and auction processes. The team is expanding fast; high-performing early team members will be well-positioned for future growth, specialisation and coordination roles. What will you do? - Build and maintain Origin , our internal deal intelligence tracker, shipping improvements and new features at a rapid cadence using AI-assisted development tools such as Claude Code and Codex. - Design, deploy and iterate on AI-driven workflows that support our reporters and analysts, including automated news monitoring, deal signal detection, tracker prioritisation and Slack-based alerting. - Conduct targeted research into companies, financial sponsors and capital structures to enrich our understanding of each transaction. - Support real-time deal tracking operations by processing proprietary intelligence, ensuring accuracy, traceability, and timeliness across all reported data points. - Collaborate with the Europe- and US-based journalists to ensure collected insights are integrated accurately into platform records. - Participate in internal quality control checks and pipeline hygiene processes to ensure data consistency, leveraging AI automation where possible. - Monitor external news sources and financial journalists' public activity daily to identify new or untracked deals and flag intelligence relevant to live transactions. Qualifications - High agency above all: you figure things out, spot inefficiencies and fix them without waiting to be asked. - Genuine curiosity about AI tools and a habit of experimenting: you actively use tools like Claude, Codex, Cursor, n8n, Zapier or whatever gets the job done, and you are always trying the next one. Prior experience is not required if you show us that you learn fast. - An appetite to build: applications, automations, scripts, workflows. Show us anything you have made; side projects count. - Exceptional attention to detail and the ability to work confidently with large structured datasets. - Genuine interest in M&A, private equity and financial markets; a finance, economics or business background is a plus, not a requirement. - Strong communication skills and the ability to manage tasks independently. - Education - you have a Bachelor’s degree. - Experience - 0–2 years of work experience; recent graduates with strong experience in side projects are welcome. Benefits - Opportunity to play a high-visibility role at a high-growth fintech scale-up with an international footprint. - Ground-floor position in a rapidly expanding function, with clear pathways to progression, specialisation or future coordination roles. - Direct exposure to live M&A deal flow: real-time insight into how private equity transactions evolve from early preparation through to close. - Daily collaboration with senior Intelligence Originators, experienced financial journalists with deep industry source networks. - Clear development path supported by coaching and a feedback-driven approach. - Excellent and competitive base salary, plus an annual bonus linked to your performance and OKRs. - Attractive benefits, including remote working allowance and learning & coaching benefits. - Fun working atmosphere with company-wide outings and events. - Above all: the opportunity to carve your signature in a fast-growing SaaS scale-up and be part of a team being built from scratch.
