• Establish and maintain software development, testing, and delivery schedules • Designing software-intensive systems, including defining requirements, creating architectures, and ensuring scalability and security • Integrating software components with hardware to create cohesive, functioning systems • Review test plans and procedures and debugging complex software issues • Document and review system designs, procedures, and workflows • Design scripts and tools to improve automation, efficiency, performance, and operational reliability • Oversee creation of software simulators • Participate in creation of full system emulators • Develop, author, and maintain system, subsystem, and component-level requirements for space system hardware and their interfaces with spacecraft power, thermal, and command & data handling subsystems • Maintaining existing systems, managing upgrades, and providing technical support or troubleshooting during flight operations • Participate in technical reviews (SRR, PDR, CDR, TRR) and gate reviews, through assistance in generating verification evidence • Support model-based systems engineering (MBSE) initiatives where applicable
Job Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related technical discipline
- 10+ years of relevant experience in computer systems engineering
- Strong skills in programming languages (e.g., Python, C++, Java, JavaScript)
- Strong skills with operating systems (e.g., Linux, Windows Server)
- Knowledge of networking protocols and infrastructure (e.g., TCP/IP, DNS)
- Familiarity with verification and validation (V&V) processes in aerospace or high-reliability industries
- Working knowledge of requirements management tools (MS Excel, DOORS, or equivalent)
- Strong communication and documentation skills with cross-functional teams across engineering disciplines
- Ability to adapt in a fast-paced environment
- Ability to obtain and maintain U.S. Government security clearance or ITAR compliance (U.S. Persons required)
