Responsibilities The successful candidate will be part of a multi-disciplinary dynamic team of engineers and scientists engaged in a wide range of projects providing planning, design and engineering services for a wide range of projects for commercial, industrial and government clients. This remote position provides technical support related to PFAS and other environmental contamination, on characterization/remediation projects for federal, state, commercial and industrial clients. The candidate will support the planning, execution, and management of complex projects and field programs. This position requires the ability to evaluate chemical distribution and transport through soils, groundwater, surface water, and sediment to reach sound technical conclusions and present/document findings. The candidate will plan and conduct (with supervision by project management) tasks such as pilot tests and treatability studies, engineering designs, construction oversight, operation, and maintenance (O&M), and report writing. Responsibilities: • Task management, including planning and implementing investigation and remediation projects, design and implementation, trouble shooting and optimization of remediation engineering projects, budget management, adherence to schedule, quality, client satisfaction, and profitability. • Work as a part of a team to prepare work packages and develop remedial solutions for various government, commercial, and industrial sites for conventional contaminants (fuels, VOCs, metals) as well as emerging contaminants (PFAS, 1,4-Dioxane). • Support project managers and subject matter experts in evaluation of emerging and innovative technologies via research, design and testing of emergent technologies, including PFAS. • Support the development, planning, and implementation of sampling programs for multi-media environmental sampling, addressing impacts to soil, groundwater, sediment, and surface water. • Contribute to proposal efforts by performing increasingly detailed cost estimates to address contaminants at various sites. • Develop technical specifications, scopes and cost estimates to support procurement of subcontractors including environmental remediation contractors, drillers, analytical laboratories, etc., and assist evaluation of bids and pricing. • Perform field inspections and monitoring activities at client sites. • Expectation of obtaining Professional Engineer registrations, if not already held. • Other duties may be assigned as determined appropriate by the supervisor based on level of experience. • Working closely with other engineering disciplines including civil, structural, mechanical/process, and electrical engineering to produce successful projects. • Prepare all work products in accordance with Tetra Tech QA/QC programs and professional engineering standards. • As required provide marketing and business development support to proposal leads. • Other duties may be assigned. PMP Certification a plus. • Valid Driver's License with an acceptable driving record. • Proficiency in Microsoft software, including Excel, Word and Project. • Excellent written and verbal communication skills. • Position requires periodic travel, approximately up to 25%. • Current HAZWOPER certification is desirable. • Strong work ethic and problem-solving skills. • Effective time management skills with the ability to meet tight deadlines. • This position requires the candidate to be a U.S. Citizen due to the projects they will be working on.
