Principal Engineering Designer – Water
CHA Consulting, Inc.
• Lead the research, preparation, and production of water/wastewater infrastructure design drawings using tools such as REVIT, MicroStation, AutoCAD, and related design software • Collaborate with engineers, project managers, and multidisciplinary teams to develop integrated solutions across various water/wastewater projects such as treatment facilities, conveyance systems, and pump stations • Provide technical oversight and mentorship to junior designers on project drawing production, ensuring accuracy, consistency, and adherence to standards across all deliverables • Examine complex contract documents and drawings for errors, revising as needed to align with contract specifications • Contribute to the development of technical reports, material costs, construction estimations, and production schedules for water/wastewater infrastructure projects • Conduct project review meetings and prepare project “As-Builts” documentation
Job Requirements
- Associate’s Degree in Engineering, Engineering Technology, Engineering Science, or related technical field required
- Minimum of 12 years of experience in document production within the engineering discipline required
- Proficiency in discipline-based software (REVIT, AutoCAD, Civil 3D) and Microsoft Office Suite
- Strong verbal and written communication skills, with a collaborative work ethic
- Expert working knowledge of engineering discipline with strong expertise in design drawing layout
- Strong problem-solving capabilities with demonstrated technical proficiency
