Below is a description of your role and responsibilities, including the things you will be held accountable for and the virtues, behaviors and competencies that are expected for this role. - Architect and deploy highly scalable, cloud-native systems utilizing Django to integrate with external HR-Tech systems allowing users to seamlessly connect and transfer data back and forth. - Proactively encourage collaboration across teams and functional units to align on the direction of strategic initiatives. - Document technical proposals and designs, collaborating with peers to refine technical solutions. - Drive product and engineering-led initiatives by deconstructing complex business challenges into manageable tasks and collaborate effectively with colleagues to implement proposed solutions. - Display initiative to independently identify bottlenecks, communicate tradeoffs, and provide technical recommendations to members of the product team. - Engage in software design and peer code reviews, offering input and technical feedback to other members of the engineering team. - Provide support for production software developments and participate in on-call rotation. Qualifications - 5+ years of relevant software engineering experience building highly available web application systems using Python/Django. - Previous experience designing and building APIs to connect disparate systems. - Proven ability to quickly ramp up on new systems and demonstrate a willingness to learn and adapt. - Strong proficiency in software design principles and technical documentation. - Excellent communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to explain complex technical topics. - Thrive in a fast-paced, ever-changing, start-up environment where you can contribute with your own ideas, innovation, and knowledge. - Demonstrated technical leadership, promoting best practices and fostering a positive team culture. - Passion for continuous learning, problem-solving, and staying up-to-date with emerging technologies. Requirements - You have experience writing and maintaining production code in Python using the Django web framework. - You thrive on innovation, consistently introducing novel ideas in areas such as automation, testing, reliability, and scalability, all while ensuring high availability for production environments. - You have experience with payroll, HR tech, healthcare, or insurance systems. - You have experience mentoring and collaborating with team members to drive technical excellence and overall team success. - You have experience working with a startup and/or with a B2B SaaS business.
