The Opportunity: Postmedia Network Inc., is seeking a seasoned, highly motivated deputy editor for the Cape Breton Post, who is accustomed to working in a fast-paced daily newspaper environment as well as collaborating with editors in multiple newsrooms. The successful candidate must have a track record of success driving readership and engagement, can collaborate with editors and newsrooms to ensure best practices are adopted and devise content strategies that ensure our brands retain and grow their reputation as crucial community pillars. What you'll do: - The deputy editor oversees newsrooms operations for the Cape Breton Post and as well as Nova Scotia weekly publications. - Works with the local journalists to drive readership. - This newsroom leader supports production and assigning for our digital and print publications. Who you are: - A senior leader with experience managing a daily news operation - Able to lead teams to drive readership and engagement - A skilled editor who is proactive in devising strategies that lead to increase reader engagement - A manager who has experience with transformative change in operations - Ability to resolve conflict and solve problems Compensation: Employment offers presented to the selected candidate are based on a combination of qualifications, experience, responsibilities of the role and the candidate's location.
