Senior Editor

• Responsible for top editing a variety of text-based digital travel content, from inspiration stories to intel, from longreads to quick hits. • Work in a fast-paced and collaborative environment, coordinating with other editors and reporting to the editorial director.

Job Requirements

  • Minimum 5 years hands-on text editing experience
  • 5-7 years experience as a senior editor at a media company working in a deadline-driven environment
  • Sharp line editing, story shaping, and packaging skills
  • Reporting experience and knowledge of fact-checking best practices
  • Meticulous attention to detail and grammar
  • Ability to manage multiple deadlines simultaneously
  • Ability to write clear, engaging copy and help others to do the same
  • Agility in storytelling skills, jumping from a longform feature to a short news item to a roundup to a destination spotlight
  • Excellent communication skills and ability to cooperate effectively with staff and freelancers in a remote work environment
  • Experience assigning and commissioning articles
  • Experience working in a CMS
  • Experience writing newsletters
  • Experience scriptwriting and capturing footage for social video
  • Must have a passion for travel, and be interested in conceptualizing new and interesting ways to create travel storytelling
