Wind Technician I, II, III – Mobile Service Travel Team
Deriva Energy
• Always maintain a high level of safety awareness • Climb heights 300 ft. and greater several times daily • Diagnose and resolve faults on turbines as they relate to mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic problems • Perform troubleshooting to identify the root cause of an issue and perform corrective actions or open a service case with equipment manufacturer • Perform energy isolation in accordance with all Lock Out / Tag Out Procedures • Perform pad mounted Transformer switching in accordance with all Hazardous Energy Controls Procedures • Perform small or large corrective tasks on wind turbines • Perform preventative maintenance, corrective maintenance, performance monitoring and evaluation • Maintain all aspects (e.g., electrical, mechanical, civil, etc.) of turbines in a safe, high quality, and efficient manner • Maintain EH&S Documentation and complete necessary paperwork within Maximo
Job Requirements
- Wind Technician - Level I: High School/GED
- Ability to complete Level I job performance measures and training Deriva Energy renewables academy within 1 year
- Wind Technician - Level II: High School/GED External Candidates - (3+) years of related work experience
- Wind Technician - Level II: Must pass required Turbine Technician I and Electrical Operator I JPMs within the probationary period.
- Wind Technician - Level II: Internal Candidates - (1+) year of technical experience with Deriva Energy as a Wind Technician
- Wind Technician - Level III: High school/GED External Candidates - (3+) years of related work experience
- Wind Technician - Level III: Must pass required Turbine Technician II and Electrical Operator I & II JPMs within the probationary period
- Wind Technician - Level III: Internal Candidates - (1+) year of technical experience with Deriva Energy as a Wind Technician
- AAS degree or certification in Wind/Renewable Energy or applicable field of study
- Experience with Vestas V82 and V90 turbines
- High voltage and substation maintenance experience
- Familiarity with mechanical and electronic testing equipment
- Knowledge of heavy equipment for facility maintenance
- Competent with Maximo EZ Max mobile work and My Time management systems
- Microsoft Office Including Excel/Word/PowerPoint
- CPR and AED Training Certification
- TSL tower climber and rescue & EEM training
- Forklift certified
- Valid Driver’s License required
- Must pass a background check and drug test prior to hire
