Role Description Reporting to the Senior Tax Manager and/or Tax Manager II, the Tax Manager I is responsible for serving as a leader in the tax department and ensuring accurate and timely processing of tax returns for the Firm by completing a final review of all returns, a detail review of some returns, managing workflow, and assisting the Senior Tax Managers and/or Tax Manager II and planning teams as needed. - Manage the daily workflow of tasks for their assigned clients - Complete final review of all tax returns and detail reviews of some tax returns prior to sending to planning team and/or client - Oversee assigned Tax Admin Specialist for team - Provide weekly updates to the Senior Manager and/or Tax Manager II regarding overall performance Qualifications - Bachelor’s degree or higher in Accounting, Tax, or related field - CPA or EA required - 8+ years’ experience in public accounting or its equivalent - Proven experience with CCH Axcess tax preparation software is highly desirable - Thorough knowledge of tax laws - Strong communication, interpersonal and organizational skills - Experience managing a team strongly preferred Requirements - No travel is expected for this position. Work Environment This job operates in a clerical, office setting. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, filing cabinets and fax machines. Upon management’s approval, remote work may be allowed using firm-approved office equipment. Correspondence with coworkers may be in person or through virtual means. Physical Demands This is a largely sedentary role; however, some filing may be required. This would require the ability to lift files, open filing cabinets, and bend or stand as necessary. Position Type and Expected Hours of Work This is a full time, exempt position. Days and hours of work are Monday through Friday 8:30 a.m. to 5 p.m. Some flexibility in hours is allowed based on management’s approval. The ability to work remotely is allowed based on management’s approval.
