Role Description itD is seeking a Technical Program Manager III – Data Engineering & eDiscovery to drive complex, cross-functional data engineering programs supporting electronic data management, legal matters, regulatory actions, and information governance initiatives. The ideal candidate will bring strong experience in technical program management, data engineering program coordination, and cross-functional stakeholder management, with a track record of aligning multidisciplinary teams, managing complex workstreams, mitigating delivery risks, and improving execution efficiency. Location: This is a US-Remote opportunity for candidates physically located on the West Coast and able to work PST hours. Duration: 7 months Responsibilities: - Lead cross-functional technical programs and data engineering workstreams supporting electronic data management, legal, regulatory, and information governance initiatives. - Partner with data engineers, attorneys, data scientists, and business stakeholders to define program scope, goals, success metrics, deliverables, and execution plans. - Build and manage project roadmaps, tasks, sprints, dependencies, and timelines while ensuring alignment across highly cross-functional teams. - Track program execution, proactively identify risks and blockers, coordinate mitigation strategies, and drive projects toward critical deadlines. - Develop clear program documentation, executive communications, presentations, and written updates that translate technical topics for non-technical stakeholders. - Advocate for data engineering teams by evaluating complex stakeholder requests, facilitating productive discussions, and developing scalable solutions to challenging or infeasible requirements. - Coordinate technical design discussions and promote quality across data pipelines, system architectures, and data engineering deliverables. - Improve program processes, communication structures, and operational workflows to reduce stakeholder alignment cycles and increase execution efficiency. - Maintain transparency across programs by communicating progress, dependencies, risks, decisions, and escalations to technical teams and senior stakeholders. Internal Responsibilities: - Attend regular internal practice community meetings. - Collaborate with your itD practice team on industry thought leadership. - Complete client case studies and learning material, including blogs and media material. - Build out material to contribute to the Digital Transformation practice. - Attend internal itD networking events, both in person and virtual. - Work with leadership on career fast-track opportunities. Qualifications - 5–7 years of overall experience in technical program management, data engineering programs, or related technical program delivery roles. - Minimum 3–4 years of hands-on Technical Program Management experience. - Demonstrated experience tracking and facilitating highly cross-functional data engineering requests, projects, or programs. - Experience building, managing, and tracking project plans, tasks, sprints, roadmaps, dependencies, and delivery milestones. - Strong technical literacy in data engineering concepts, data pipelines, and technical system architectures. - Proven experience partnering with technical and non-technical stakeholders to define expectations, scope programs, and drive alignment. - Strong written and verbal communication skills with experience developing executive presentations, leadership communications, and memos for non-technical audiences. - Demonstrated ability to manage complex stakeholder relationships, facilitate difficult conversations, and professionally push back on challenging or infeasible requests. - Strong organizational skills and attention to detail with the ability to manage multiple complex workstreams and changing priorities. - Experience proactively identifying program risks, removing blockers, managing dependencies, and driving projects to completion. Requirements - Experience working in eDiscovery, information governance, legal technology, compliance, privacy, cybersecurity, finance, or another highly regulated environment. - Experience managing programs involving electronically stored information, data preservation, collection, processing, analytics, or data governance. - Interdisciplinary or non-traditional professional experience across multiple roles, industries, or startup environments. - Experience partnering directly with attorneys, legal teams, compliance stakeholders, or other highly specialized business functions. - Experience leveraging artificial intelligence to automate workflows, improve processes, or increase operational efficiency. - Experience supporting data engineering or data science teams in a technical program management capacity. - Experience operating in high-pressure environments that require stakeholder negotiation, expectation management, and complex cross-functional coordination.
