Job Description

Communications & Social Media Manager

Valerie Group

Role Description We're looking for a Communications & Social Media Manager to own how Valerie shows up both externally and internally. You'll lead Valerie's social presence, support our partner brands, shape founder thought leadership, strengthen our employer brand, and ensure every communication reflects Valerie's voice, values, and DNA. You'll work closely with Brand, Creative, Copy, Paid Media, Talent Acquisition, Operations, and Leadership to create a consistent brand experience across every touchpoint—from social media and candidate communications to employee onboarding. Success in this role isn't measured by how many posts you publish; it's measured by how consistently Valerie's brand is experienced by founders, customers, candidates, and employees. You could be a great fit if... - You understand that social media is more than posting content—it's about building brands and communities. - You naturally think about brand consistency and notice when messaging, tone, or visuals don't align. - You enjoy balancing multiple brands, campaigns, and priorities without missing deadlines. - You can translate business goals into engaging content that feels native to each platform. - You enjoy working with designers, copywriters, founders, and marketers to bring ideas to life. - You proactively identify opportunities to strengthen Valerie's brand internally and externally. - You believe every candidate and every employee should experience the same high-quality brand from their first interaction onward. - You enjoy improving content workflows, communication processes, and brand systems rather than simply maintaining them. - You're curious about AI and constantly look for better ways to create, manage, and optimise content. Requirements - 2–5 years of experience managing social media, brand communications, or content marketing for consumer, DTC, B2B, or high-growth brands. - Experience managing multiple brands, campaigns, or content calendars simultaneously. - Hands-on experience using Hootsuite or similar social media management platforms. - Experience collaborating with Creative, Copy, Marketing, and Brand teams to deliver high-quality content. - Strong understanding of Instagram, TikTok, LinkedIn, Facebook, and platform-specific content best practices. - Excellent written communication skills with the ability to adapt tone of voice across different audiences and brands. - Experience managing community engagement, online reputation, and social conversations. - Strong organisational skills with exceptional attention to detail. - Comfortable working directly with founders and senior leadership on communications and thought leadership initiatives. Bonus Points - Experience working with DTC or ecommerce brands. - Experience developing employer branding or recruitment marketing content. - Experience creating candidate-facing communications or onboarding materials. - Experience developing or maintaining brand guidelines, tone of voice, or internal communications. - Basic editing skills using Canva or CapCut. - Experience using AI tools to improve content planning, ideation, reporting, or workflow efficiency. - Experience supporting global brands across Australia, New Zealand, Singapore, or the US. What You Can Expect - Meaningful work with visible impact. - High ownership from day one. - Collaboration with experienced founders, operators, and specialists. - A team that values curiosity, initiative, and continuous improvement. - Competitive compensation and the tools you need to do your best work. - Opportunities to grow as Valerie grows. Valerie is committed to building an inclusive workplace where people from different backgrounds, experiences, and perspectives can thrive. We hire based on skills, potential, and the ability to contribute to our team.
