Job Description
Head of Francophone Africa
LemFi
Role Description LemFi moves money for Francophone diaspora communities across Sub-Saharan and North Africa — corridors that are high-stakes, fast-moving, and deeply underserved. As Head of Francophone Region, you will own the full commercial outcome for these markets: - The P&L - The team - The partnerships - The product launches that unlock the next phase of growth You will report to the Head of Africa, lead a growth team distributed across Europe, and carry direct accountability for take-rate, revenue, and margin targets across two distinct sub-regions. This is not a strategy-only role. You will set the regional direction and then get into the detail: - Pricing corridors - Signing payout partners - Launching cash pick-up in North Africa - Deepening penetration in established Sub-Saharan markets You will be the internal voice of the Francophone region, shaping product roadmaps and go-to-market decisions, and the external face of LemFi to partners and regulators. If you want ownership, complexity, and a seat at a table that genuinely matters, this is it. Qualifications - Professional fluency in French and English — written and spoken; you can run a board meeting in either language. - Proven P&L ownership in a fintech, payments, or remittance business — you have hit take-rate, margin, and revenue targets and can show the numbers. - Track record leading and scaling commercial or growth teams across multiple countries, ideally in a high-growth, distributed environment. - Deep knowledge of Francophone African markets — Sub-Saharan and North Africa — including the regulatory, cultural, and competitive dynamics that actually matter. - Demonstrated success building commercial partnerships, including payout networks, cash pick-up infrastructure, or comparable fintech distribution channels. - Strong analytical instincts — you set strategy from data, not instinct, and you can translate complex performance signals into decisive action. - Willingness and ability to travel across the region and Europe regularly as the business demands. Requirements - Own the Francophone region P&L end-to-end — revenue, take rate, margin — and make the calls needed to hit targets, including pricing, resource allocation, and partner decisions. - Lead and scale the regional growth team across Europe: set goals, build a high-performance culture, hire great people, and cut loose anything holding the region back. - Launch new products across North Africa — starting with cash pick-up — from market entry through to real adoption, working hand-in-hand with Product and Operations. - Scale existing products across Sub-Saharan Francophone corridors: deepen penetration, improve retention, and turn insight into commercial action. - Set and oversee the partnership strategy — payout partners, banks, agent networks, fintechs — ensuring every relationship delivers network coverage, commercial value, and compliance. - Drive user acquisition and activation across online and offline channels, ensuring growth and marketing strategies land with Francophone diaspora and in-market audiences. - Use data and AI tools to model performance, sharpen forecasts, and bring the region's voice clearly into product, pricing, and go-to-market decisions across the wider business. Nice to have - Experience launching new markets or products from zero in Francophone Africa (North Africa a particular plus). - Existing relationships with payout partners, regulators, or banking counterparts across the region. - Familiarity with using AI tools (e.g. LLMs, data copilots) to accelerate commercial analysis, market research, or operational workflows. Benefits - At LemFi, you won’t be just a cog in a machine. Whether designing products, scaling operations, or telling our story, you’ll tackle complex challenges with real, immediate impact. - Your work goes beyond metrics - it puts money back in families’ pockets and offers access to the previously excluded. - Join us to make a meaningful difference, where high performance is a lifeline for millions.
