Role Description The Senior Manager - Supply Chain LATAM Contractor is a key role within the LATAM Supply Chain organization, responsible for end-to-end supply chain operations and strategic planning across Mexico, Central America, & Andean region. This role will own supply planning processes, optimize inventory levels, logistics, and guarantee product availability for patients in alignment with commercial forecasts and regulatory requirements. This role is critical to ensuring uninterrupted patient access to life-changing therapies by managing supply continuity and operational excellence. The position leads cross-functional and external partnerships across distributors, 3PLs, QA, regulatory, and commercial teams, while driving strategic initiatives including product launches, network optimization, and cost-to-serve improvements. This role combines operational excellence with strategic leadership in a dynamic, multicultural environment. Work Model: Remote: Officially documented as working full-time from home, with travel to Ultragenyx's offices or other locations on occasion as needed. Responsibilities - Planning & Inventory: - Develop and maintain supply plans aligned with SIOP and commercial forecasts. - Optimize stock levels and proactively manage replenishment to avoid shortages or excess, including deviation management in inbound and outbound processes within the quality management system. - Identify and mitigate supply risks to ensure continuity of treatment. - Operations & Customer Service: - Oversee order-to-cash processes ensuring high service levels, including order fulfillment, shipment tracking, and issue resolution. - Manage relationships with internal and external stakeholders, including distributors, suppliers, 4PL, commercial teams, patient liaison, accounting, global distribution, QA, regulatory, and contracts. - Partner with finance and customer-facing teams to ensure accurate invoicing and account reconciliation. - Strategic Projects & Continuous Improvement: - Lead and execute strategic initiatives including product launches, supply network optimization, and cost-to-serve improvement. - Demonstrated ability to influence cross-functional stakeholders without direct authority. - Collaborate with analytics teams to leverage data and digital tools for improved forecast accuracy and decision-making. - Compliance & Governance: - Support change control, manage vendor onboarding, risk assessments and compliance activities within the Quality Management System. - Ensure adherence to LATAM regulatory requirements for imports/exports. - Accountable for service levels (OTIF), inventory health (DOH, write-offs), and cost performance across the cluster. Qualifications - Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain, Logistics, Engineering, or related field; MBA or APICS certification preferred. - 6+ years in pharmaceutical supply chain (planning & operations) within a multinational, matrix environment. - Strong knowledge of LATAM regulatory and healthcare systems; rare disease experience preferred. - Expertise in supply planning, inventory optimization, and import/export processes. - Experience with ERP and planning tools (Oracle, Kinaxis). - Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, PowerPoint, Power BI) and SharePoint. - Bilingual: English and Spanish required; Portuguese a plus. - Strong communication, negotiation, and stakeholder management skills.
