Senior Director, Finance Operations

• Lead and scale a broad Financial Operations organization spanning Source-to-Pay, Global Payroll, Equity Administration, and Sales Commissions • Drive strategic sourcing, vendor management, and procurement governance across major spend categories, with full ownership of the P2P technology stack • Oversee accurate and compliant global payroll operations across all jurisdictions, partnering closely with Human Resources, Treasury and Accounting • Own all equity plan administration and regulatory compliance, serving as the company's internal expert • Oversee sales incentive compensation design, calculation, and administration in partnership with Sales Operations • Serve as a key financial operations partner to executive leadership, support SEC disclosures, board reporting, and financial strategy across all functional areas • Maintain a strong SOX control environment and serve as the primary audit liaison across Financial Operations processes • Champion AI-driven automation and process transformation while developing high-performing teams and partnering broadly across Finance, Legal, People, IT, and Sales • Champion, role model, and embed Samsara’s cultural principles (Focus on Customer Success, Build for the Long Term, Adopt a Growth Mindset, Be Inclusive, Win as a Team) as we scale globally and across new offices • Hire, develop and lead an inclusive, engaged, and high performing team

Job Requirements

  • 12+ years of experience in financial operations, with meaningful depth across Source to Pay and/or Compensation Operations
  • Demonstrated experience leading multi-functional teams spanning diverse operational functions
  • Experience operating in a SOX-compliant public company environment, including designing and maintaining controls and serving as a liaison to internal and external auditors
  • Experience owning enterprise-level systems across S2P and/or Compensation Operations (e.g., Coupa, SAP, Workday, ADP, Schwab/Computershare, CaptivateIQ, or Xactly)
  • A track record of driving large-scale process transformation (people, process, and systems) with measurable business outcomes
  • Familiarity with AI and automation tools applied to financial operations use cases such as anomaly detection, commission validation, or employee self-service
  • Strong executive presence and experience influencing VP- and C-level stakeholders on complex financial and compensation topics.
