Title and Summary Director, Account Management - Pacific Islands Mastercard is seeking a senior commercial leader to lead our Pacific Islands customer portfolio across 13 markets. This role is responsible for managing and growing relationships with key issuer, acquirer and strategic customers while driving revenue growth, customer retention and market expansion. Working closely with customers and internal stakeholders, you will lead complex commercial initiatives, support major implementation programmes and help shape Mastercard's long-term presence across the Pacific Islands. This is a highly visible leadership role that combines executive relationship management, commercial ownership and team leadership, with a strong focus on helping customers grow their businesses and maximise the value of their partnership with Mastercard. All About the Role • Lead Mastercard's Pacific Islands customer portfolio across 13 markets, driving sustainable growth and long-term customer success. • Own executive relationships across key issuing and acquiring customers, acting as the primary strategic partner for the portfolio. • Develop and execute account growth strategies that expand customer engagement, revenue and market share. • Lead the ongoing implementation and optimisation of key customer partnerships, working closely with cross-functional teams. • Support customers in achieving their business objectives through Mastercard's products, solutions and services. • Manage commercial negotiations, contracting activities and customer business planning processes. • Identify selective new business opportunities that strengthen Mastercard's position in the Pacific Islands. • Build trusted relationships with regulators, industry participants and other market stakeholders. • Lead and develop a small team while fostering collaboration across regional and global functions. • Champion initiatives that strengthen digital payments adoption and financial inclusion across the region. All About You • Significant experience in payments, banking, financial services, or a related industry, with direct exposure to external customers through account management, business development, product, partnership, consulting, or other client-facing commercial roles. • Knowledge of issuing, acquiring or broader payments ecosystems is highly desirable. • Strong executive presence with experience engaging senior customer stakeholders and decision-makers. • Experience leading complex customer implementations, negotiations or transformation programmes. • Strong commercial judgement and ability to balance customer needs with business objectives. • Skilled at influencing diverse stakeholders across matrixed organisations. • Ability to prioritise effectively and operate independently in a fast-moving environment. • Experience leading or mentoring team members is an advantage. • Passion for building trusted relationships and creating long-term customer value.
