Bookoff McAndrews
Bookoff McAndrews (BoMc) is seeking a Patent Attorney with 2-5 years of experience in a biotechnology practice to join our firm. This is a remote position. If candidates reside in the DC area, they are welcome to come into our DC office as often (or as little) as they like. Meeting with inventors and drafting patent applications for filing in the USPTO Prosecuting patent applications before the USPTO, including interviewing Examiners Working collaboratively with clients and other BoMc attorneys to develop and refine claim strategies Proactively managing a docket of cases the attorney has primary responsibility for, across a blend of clients from start-ups to Fortune 500 companies Assisting with other prosecution/counseling matters including: Drafting noninfringement and invalidity opinions Conducting due diligence investigations Performing freedom-to-operate and landscape analyses under the supervision of the firm’s partners Drafting noninfringement and invalidity opinions Conducting due diligence investigations Performing freedom-to-operate and landscape analyses under the supervision of the firm’s partners Post-grant proceedings before the USPTO, including Inter Partes Reviews
Job Requirements
- Bachelor's or advanced degree in a life sciences technology area
- 2-5 years of patent prosecution experience with a focus on biotechnology work
- Positive attitude toward client service
- Outstanding organizational, interpersonal, and professional service skills (written and verbal)
- Ability to multi-task, manage multiple priorities, and work in a team environment
- Self-starter with commitment to success and personal professional growth
- Enjoy being involved in all aspects of a vibrant law firm team
- The good-faith base salary range for this position is $165,000 - $205,000, plus competitive benefits
- This position is eligible for three different bonus opportunities: Trimester bonuses of up to an additional $15,000 for staying on track to meet your billable requirement End-of-year discretionary merit and productivity bonuses contingent upon meeting the billable requirement
