Clinical Documentation Principal Trainer

InstantServe LLC

Role Description Clinical Documentation Principal Trainer responsible for developing and delivering EHR training, supporting providers, and optimizing documentation workflows. Partners with informatics and IT to improve efficiency, compliance, and patient care outcomes. MUST BE A CERTIFIED CLINICAL DOCUMENTATION PRINCIPLE TRAINER FROM EPIC. Training Development & Delivery (40%) - Design, build, and maintain training curriculum for clinical documentation workflows (e.g., provider documentation, templates, SmartTools) - Deliver instructor-led, virtual, and at-the-elbow training to providers and clinical staff - Develop training materials including manuals, eLearning modules, quick reference guides, and simulations - Ensure training content aligns with system updates, regulatory requirements, and organizational standards EHR & Workflow Expertise (25%) - Serve as a subject matter expert in clinical documentation workflows within the EHR (Epic preferred) - Collaborate with application analysts and informatics teams to understand system design and changes - Translate technical build into end-user training content - Support go-live readiness activities and command center operations Optimization & Continuous Improvement (20%) - Identify documentation improvement opportunities through feedback, metrics, and workflow analysis - Partner with Clinical Informatics to support optimization initiatives and standardization efforts - Update training materials and strategies based on system enhancements and user needs - Promote best practices for accurate, efficient, and compliant documentation Governance & Collaboration (10%) - Participate in governance structures and workgroups related to clinical documentation - Provide input on system design decisions impacting documentation workflows - Ensure alignment with enterprise documentation standards and regulatory requirements Support & Evaluation (5%) - Evaluate training effectiveness through surveys, proficiency assessments, and performance metrics - Provide ongoing support and coaching to end users - Maintain training environment and related documentation Qualifications - Epic-certified as Principal Trainer in Clinical Documentation - Required (5 Years) - Ability to work without close supervision, taking ownership of work activities, & ensuring training sessions & materials meet Epic's standards - Required - Experience with clinical documentation improvement (CDI) practices - Required (3 Years) - Familiarity with regulatory and compliance standards (e.g., Joint Commission, CMS) - Highly desired - Experience supporting large-scale EHR implementations or upgrades - Highly desired - Certified in developing the Epic training environments - Highly desired (3 Years)

Qualifications: - At least one year in a quality food service operation in a healthcare setting preferred. - Food Handler Certification certified within 6 months of hire - High School or equivalent. - Knowledge and experience of methods and procedures involved in cooking, salad preparation, sandwich making, sanitation, and storage. - Basic knowledge of therapeutic diets. V.
